A BIG DRY… needs some big pumps

Aussie’s big Kubota diesel pumps represent a quality product range with a price that works for farmers

With many states moving into or experiencing drought conditions. Aussie Pumps has released a new range of high capacity 76 and 102mm (3 and 4-inchs) Kubota powered “Drought Buster” gushers that are able to move big volumes fast and with minimal cost.

Built around the popular Aussie “Quik Prime” design principles, the pumps offer fast self-priming, with vertical lifts from creeks, rivers and dams of up to 8.4m (27.5ft).

The pumps are powered by Kubota’s 7kW (9.5hp) OC95 electric start air and oil cooled diesel engines. The oil and air cooled design means that the engine runs cooler than conventional air cooled engines, is quieter and provides an excellent fuel economy.

The pumps offer huge flows with the 102mm (4-inch) variant delivering a whopping 1,600-litres/min and delivers a head up to 28m (92ft). That’s over 40psi and ideal for fast filling water carts or transferring big volumes.

These, new pumps move more water for each litre of fuel than any other model.

The 76mm (3-inch) model, built around the same basic pump design but with slightly small ports, delivers 1,300-litres/min matched to a higher head of 30m (98ft) vertical lift, that’s 43psi.

Both the 76 and 102mm (3 and 4-inch) pumps use the same Kubota engine, match tested and approved by the manufacturer.

Built with big, open high SG cast iron impellers these are suitable for passing small solids in suspension. Heavy duty mechanical carbon/ceramic seals are fitted as standard with Buna N Nitrile elastomers. The big Aussie gusher casings are made from high quality marine grade aluminium.

These pumps are ideal for moving water from dam to dam and enable farmers to maximise rainfall collection on their property.

Both pumps are backed by Aussie Pumps’ unique 5-year guarantee and the engines come with Kubota’s 2-year warranty. “Our 5-year guarantee is the only one in the industry and tells consumers about our confidence in our product” said Product Manager, Brad Farrugia.

“Dealers that stock these big pumps are showing customers that they have a choice to go bigger and save more,” he said.

The pumps come standard with super heavy duty galvanised steel roll frames and galvanised steel sub bases with anti-vibration mounts.  They are all carefully match tested to Kubota’s stringent requirement. That ensures the engines are not overloaded but rather are able to work well within their capacity.

“Kubota diesels run as smooth as silk, even under load” said Farrugia.  “The advanced cooling three vortex system that combines oil cooled combustion chamber and air cooled cylinder really works” he said.
