Field Days and Agricultural Shows offered further support leading into 2022 events

There is $7.9 million cash injection available for eligible Field days and Agricultural shows

Many Field Days and Agricultural Shows will be eligible for the next $7.9 million available to support events after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic

Applications will open under round two of the Coalition Government’s Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days program on 28 January 2022.

The Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days program is a way to give show societies and Field days committees a much-needed cash injection after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Field Days and major Agricultural shows are very important to regional communities. They help to generate over $1 billion in sales for small businesses in rural regions every year.

And for some communities and charities, agricultural shows or field days are heavily relied upon to give them the financial boost they need to undertake special projects and gain funding get them through the year.

Not only are they essential for business, field days and agricultural shows provide a way for people to show off their latest innovations and technology, often straight out of their shed and never seen before. Along with the very latest farm products and equipment releases from around the world, handled by the top distributors.

Being on display at a field day or agricultural shows greatly increases productivity and product access for all involved in the rural sector.

For field days and agricultural shows planning to make an application, be quick, as support under this second round of funding open on 28 January 2022 and closes on 17 February 2022.

Grants from $10,000 to $70,000 will be available for eligible show societies and field days organisations to help provide the confidence and resilience they need to go ahead and plan their events in 2022 and beyond.

Applicants will be able to claim for eligible expenditure incurred for events cancelled in the period from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, up to the maximum capped amounts listed in the following table:

This current round of grants provides show societies and field days organisations with the confidence they need to go ahead and plan their COVID-19 safe events in 2022 and beyond.

Agricultural Shows and Field Days funding:

•  The Coalition Government is providing over $83 million to support the growth and long-term sustainability of these important events.

•  The total of $21 million has been allocated for round two of the Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days program.

•  The program is divided into two separate grant groups: 

o   $7.9m for Agricultural Shows and Field Days

  • $13.1m for Capital City Royal Shows

The Agricultural Shows and Field Days grant opportunity opens for applications on 28 January and closes 17 February 2022. Further information will be available on 28 January 2022 from the Community Grants Hub website on this link.

The Capital City Royal Shows grant opportunity is expected to open in early 2022.
