A report released by the Road Safety Authority (RSA) in Ireland shows that the number of agricultural vehicles involved in fatal collisions on Irish roads from 2008 to 2012 was 16. Source: Farmers Journal
According to the Fatal Collisions 2008-2012 report 16 tractors in total were involved in accidents resulting in death during the given time period.
The RSA reported that the tractors involved in the incidents were among the oldest age category of vehicles, with the oldest being 30 years old.
Six tractors were the cause of the accident, while two tractors towing trailers were also held responsible.
One vintage tractor also belonged to the culpable party.
