AGT crop breeders show an ongoing commitment to supporting rural communities

For the past four years AGT has made considerable donations to local communities and asks how it can support your patch in 2025

AGT is asking grain growers from around Australia to provide ideas on how the company can assist their local communities by allotting funds for vital repair work

Australian Grain Technologies (AGT), as the leading breeder of crop varieties, has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to supporting rural communities across Australia.

AGT takes pride in releasing new and competitive varieties of wheat, barley, canola, durum, and lupins to provide Australian farmers with practical solutions that deliver value, as well as doing its part to ensure the global population is well-nourished.

The company views its ability to further contribute to farming regions across Australia through community donations as a natural extension of its responsibility to give back to the growers who have shown trust in AGT over the past decades through the adoption of its varieties and the payment of their end-point royalties.

Sourcing the right quantities of the AGT varieties you want to grow is now even easier with the decision to allow Seed Sharing of AGT Clearfield wheat and barley varieties including Tomahawk CL Plus shown here

For over two decades, the company has contributed to the nation’s farmers’ prosperity by breeding innovative and competitive field crop varieties that offer increased productivity, superior genetics, and a return on the farmer’s investment.

In 2022, to commemorate its 20th anniversary, AGT made the decision to further contribute in the farming communities that have supported the company throughout its journey.

One such initiative undertaken during the anniversary year was the establishment of a series of community donations. These donations were offered to growers of AGT varieties across Australia who required support for projects that would benefit their local communities.

Now in its fourth year, these donations have been granted to communities across various grain-growing regions of Australia.

Through the process of assessing requests and awarding these donations, it became evident that there is an ongoing need for businesses like AGT, which earn their livelihood from the work done in the field by Australian farmers, to contribute further to rural communities.

Funding the resurfacing of a country tennis court, signage, playgrounds and STEM desks for primary schools, shade covering for a high school, and even helping to pay for improvements to a municipal swimming pool that will enable better disability access were all projects that AGT was delighted and proud to contribute to in 2024.

In 2025, AGT is once again asking grain growers from around Australia to provide ideas on how the company can assist their local communities.
