This breakthrough seed portal allows growers to trade seed while cutting back on paperwork by taking just a few minutes and is fully compliant

The AGT Customer Service team including Zsolt Szilassy (left) and Alex Bensen have helped many growers to share seed since the launch of the innovative AGT Grower PortalTM

The AGT Grower PortalTM first released in October 2024 and now taken up by many growers has proven to be the ideal solution that makes it easier to share seed of eligible AGT varieties with each other, and in doing so, also have the opportunity to help some of Australia’s deserving rural charities.

Growers are finding that with the AGT Grower PortalTM, the process of trading seed ‘over the fence’ that used to involve excessive paperwork, can now be completed in a matter of a few minutes via a digital portal.

It also helps to ensure that all aspects of legal compliance involved with growing AGT varieties are simple to understand and easy to follow.

AGT Customer Experience Manager, Zsolt Szilassy outlines how the launch of the platform is right in time for seeding.

“Many areas of rural Australia are experiencing challenging conditions right now, and seed that would normally be retained for planting next season may be in short supply. So, it makes a lot of sense to utilise our Seed Sharing scheme to buy seed from other growers that may have excess seed”.

The AGT Grower PortalTM offers a simple manoeuvre Online as the ideal solution to keep a record of eligible AGT seed varieties with other growers and be fully compliant

“Even in years when seed supply isn’t tight, seed sharing is a great way to be able to move quickly into a new variety that a neighbour has had success with. We know growers are often trading seed with each other without filling in the paperwork.

“Unfortunately, that is actually illegal, so we wanted to make it as simple as possible for growers to be able to get hold of AGT’s varieties from neighbours, but do it legally,” Zsolt Szilassy added.

To encourage Seed Sharing, and the use of the AGT Grower PortalTM, AGT will send a $100 gift card to both the seller and recipient when the AGT Grower PortalTM is used to complete a Seed SharingTM transaction.

Alternatively, farmers can ask AGT to donate the $100 to a rural charity including Are You Bogged Mate, Blaze Aid, or the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
