A US model Steiger shown here is sporting some of the functions soon to be rolled out on MY19 Steigers in Australia.

Steiger 2019 models will offer a number of updates that start with improvements to the track system, engine and undercarriage.

The upgrades are designed to boost the tractors’ efficiency, performance and durability in our local farming conditions.

The tracks on the 400, 450 and 500 Steiger Rowtracs have been upgraded, allowing for those models to travel at up to 40kph with no weight restrictions.

The improvement comes from a change to the material on the outside of the roller wheels and a change to the tracks themselves, with the two combining to allow for the increase in weight and speed.

The changes reduce friction and heat build-up, resulting in more durable mid-rollers and less track wear.

With high temperatures here and more hours in the paddock than other markets, this is an advantage for local buyers.

A new air intake system for the engine has also been introduced with the aim of enhancing air flow and improving filter life in challenging working conditions.

A fully-cast undercarriage does away with the previously welded design, boosting the overall tractor strength and durability due to the elimination of stress concentration points associated with welded joints.

A re-designed clear cap on the idler wheels offers a maximum fill line moulded into the cap and a recessed “view” window, allows for quicker and easier monitoring of oil levels.

Saddletanks are also standard on MY19 Rowtracs, increasing the fuel tank capacity by 340 litres.

MY19 Steiger 4WD tractors will have improved connectivity with the addition of a telematics options and an included three-year subscription.
