2024 Dowerin Machinery Field Days: 28 and 29 August

Growing industry. Seeding Connections. Cultivating community.

We look forward to welcoming you to the 2024 Dowerin Machinery Field Days.

Each year the community of Dowerin delivers WA’s premier agricultural event on the last Wednesday and Thursday of August. Our small Wheatbelt town swells to a population of around 20,000 people over the two days, including usually a sold-out contingent of exhibitors.

Building on a long and proud history, the event unites our state’s agricultural industry, showcasing in a trade environment the products and services that support the operations of farmers and primary producers. In 2023 agricultural related products and services represented 71% of our exhibitor offering.

Dowerin brings together the decision makers across the full supply chain, from agribusiness, to machinery, equipment, livestock, professional services, and providers of technologies.

The event provides a platform to promote the Wheatbelt and agriculture to a broader audience, highlighting the significance of the sector.

This hub extends beyond business.

As well as bringing together a wealth of professional and industry connections, Dowerin Machinery Field Days also brings together people and families.

Visitors to the Dowerin Machinery Field Days are from a variety of age groups, with the two primary segments being families with children and 55+ adult couples. They come from across Western Australia with more than 60% travelling from a regional area, and over a third of whom are primary producers. Their areas of interest include products for sale, machinery, food and wine, livestock and animal displays, demonstrations and presentations, and education.

In 2023 a new initiative was introduced to further enhance the Dowerin Machinery’s role in supporting agricultural and community prosperity. The Bringing Dowerin downtown lunch shines a further light on our vital agricultural industry by bringing together business and political leaders to discuss the policies, key challenges, and trending opportunities for the sector, as well as promoting the Wheatbelt as a place to work, live and invest.

How To Get There

Green in winter and golden in summer, Dowerin lies 156km north east of Perth and is only a 2 hour scenic drive from the city along the Pioneers Pathway. Upon arrival you will be greeted by Rusty our Tin Dog who stands guard at the Western entrance to town proudly representing the spirit and ingenuity of this small rural community.

Dowerin is nestled in the heart of the Wheatbelt and enjoys a temperate climate with winter rainfall and hot, dry summers. This appealing country environment is complemented by a range of easily accessible community and sport facilities for the benefit of local people and visitors alike.

The Shire of Dowerin has a population of approximately 701 residents and there is an impressive average of 45,000 tourists visiting the Shire every year.
