NT Show Council is the peak body for the seven Agricultural Show Societies in the Northern Territory, providing them with an avenue to raise and address issues of common interest, and of material or financial benefit to their member organisations.
A member based, not-for profit organisation, we aim to promote the role and significance of Northern Territory Shows to their regions and the wider community.
- Promote and inform our communities of the value of sustainable agriculture
- Deliver innovative, progressive and desirable community events
- Advocate on behalf of show society members
- Support professional development of our members
NT Show Council aims to promote and protect the general interests of Show Societies so they can continue to put on safe events and increase community wellbeing.
What to expect?!
Pavilion exhibits receive excellent support through community entries featuring horticultural displays, cookery, needlework, photography and many other facets of locally produced craft. We encourage children and schools to enter – there is nothing like the thrill of seeing your creation on display!
There are always plenty of free activities, especially for kids. Many of our shows have a Yellow Brick Road (or similar) showbag that offers a treasure hunt taking you through all the exhibits as you complete the trail.
The Showman’s Guild of Australasia supports many of the events in the NT show circuit through the placement of side show rides and other activities.
