Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 tractor and Optimum planter combined launch

Farmers who witnessed the 2025 launch of the Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 tractor paired with a Fendt Optimum planter were suitably impressed with the sheer power

Fendt has revealed the next generation 1000 Vario Gen4 tractor range with power up to 450kW (550hp) in a demo with the most current precision Optimum planter in a first-time release

The next generation of Fendt’s high-power tractor line and first-ever Fendt stack-fold planter have been revealed in a series of trade exhibitions headlining the brand across farming regions in the northern hemisphere.

Fendt has combined the highly productive power of the Fendtâ 1000 Vario® Gen4 tractor with the most current precision ag technology offered on a Fendt Optimumä planter for its first-time release.

The Fendt 1000 Series has long been recognised for delivering productivity and versatility at the premium level in high-power tractor applications. That legacy continues with the introduction of the Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 Series.

The cabin on Fendt 1000 Vario models has always been impressive with the level jumping up further in operator comfort with powerful dust extraction an improved coolbox and Apple CarPlay

Engineers have made sure this next-generation G-4 Series tractor stands out with a bold styling that embodies a commanding look that stands out in the paddock.

In addition, there are more options to consider in the cab with a cabin dust extraction and general personalised interior comforts, including foot pegs, an added coolbox for an improved operator experience.

The 1000 Vario G-4 Series tractor line will be available in four models, the 1040, 1044, 1048 and 1052 with rated engine power from 294 to 382kW (400 to 520hp) to handle the most demanding tillage, heavy-duty seeding, and transport work an operator can throw at them.

The Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 tractor launch was combined with the release of the Fendt Optimum the brand’s first stack-fold planter release with working widths up to 16.8m

All four G-4 Series models come standard with the most current 12.4-litre MAN engine, that includes the Fendt iD™ low-speed system for increased torque at lower RPMs, and DynamicPerformance™ for optimised power delivery at the most efficiency available.

The Fendt DynamicPerformance (DP) added-power concept is available for all models and, depending on the model, additionally adds 19, 20 or 22 kW (26, 27 or 30 hp), as required. For added driving speed or application tasks, it works purely dynamically, even during stationary pto applications.

Equipped for the future, the 1000 Gen4 Series can be optionally unlocked from the factory for PTx™ OutRun™ grain cart and tillage automation solutions. OutRun, a pioneering automation system, delivers autonomous operation to increase efficiency, reduce operator fatigue and ensure crops can be harvested on time.

Critical operating mass at a glance

The Fendt 1000 Gen4 Series has raised the bar in terms of power and operator comfort while offering fuel efficiency and digital integration.

This series is also preparing farmers for the future with the first Fendt tractor that can support autonomous operation through PTx OutRun.

Developed as a flexible and compact tractor in the performance class up to maximum power of 405kW (550hp) with DP, with a low empty weight of 14-tonnes is ideal for all ground work and heavy towing, with a transport speed up to 60kph.

The well-known MAN engine has already been approved for HVO100 and other fuels with technical optimisations increasing the replacement interval of the transmission oil from 2,000 to 4,000 operating hours or 4 years. Further reducing maintenance costs.

Coupled with VarioDrive CVT transmission, Gen4 tractors offer stepless acceleration from 0.01 to 60kph, dynamic all-wheel drive up to 25kph, and tight turning with the pull-in turn effect. All designed to maximise productivity and minimise compaction with optional VarioGrip tyre pressure regulation.

Gen4 Series tractors cater for high demand-oriented hydraulic power in both pressure and volume, as well as a high drawbar load. There are six hydraulic connections in the rear and a control unit in the front (6+1). Includes a flow rate of 220-litres/min, or optionally, a double pump system with 430-litres/min (220 + 210-l/min) delivery volume can also be installed.

The Optimum is the first stack-fold planter in the Fendt range, and it’s engineered to deliver perfect seed placement and agronomic performance at the highest level

Fendt Optimum planter a first

Sitting alongside the Gen4 tractor launch, Fendt is debuting its first stack-fold planting system, the Fendt Optimum planter.

Designed to bring planting precision, capacity and flexibility to operations with stack-fold planters, the Optimum combines transport efficiency with the advanced agronomic functions farmers have come to expect from Fendt’s planter lines.

The five Optimum planters include the entry-level FTPS12-30 with a 762mm (30-in) row spacing and transport width of 5.7m, while a further four models offer row spacings ranging from 762 to 1016mm (30 to 40-in) with a transport width of 6.85m.

The Fendt Optimum planter offers row spacings ranging from 762 to 1016mm (30 to 40-in) with configurations up to 24 rows working across 16.8m with a transport width of just 6.85m

Popular row configurations and working widths include a combination of 16 rows working across 11.2m, and 24 rows working across 16.8m.

With four separate hinge points and standard wing downforce, the Optimum’s stack-fold toolbar automatically flexes to ensure optimal ground contact and uniform depth across uneven or rolling terrain.

An optional vertical contouring hitch moves the planter up and down, tilting it forward and back, allowing the toolbar to follow the topography to provide accurate seed placement and even emergence.

The Optimum can be outfitted with row unit seed hoppers or combine a 1938-litre or 4586-litre centre fill station, giving farmers the flexibility to choose what works best for their operation.

Situational power control to adjust engine power while planting to protect implements and ensure perfect placement proved ideal with the Fendt Optimum planter and Gen4 tractor product release

Additionally, the Optimum planter is built with Precision Planting technology, including a 20|20 display, vSet, vDrive, DeltaForce, SpeedTube, Reveal residue managers and FurrowForce for highly accurate seed placement and superior emergence.

The Optimum planter is a completely new chapter for Fendt, catering for the stack-fold market with transport widths of 5.7 to 6.85m, without compromising on precision.

The Fendt 1000 Vario Gen4 will be available to order in Q4 2025 with deliveries beginning in 2026, while the Optimum planter will enter pre-sales in 2026.
