Up to $75,000 in grants are available for primary producers and small businesses with a $12 million community relief fund in place for local councils

Leader of The Nationals David Littleproud has welcomed much-needed financial support amid Maranoa’s devastating floods.
David Littleproud said flood disaster grants for locals are desperately needed, as parts of Western Queensland endure flood levels not seen since 2019.
The new grants announced include;
- Up to $75,000 in grants for primary producers.
- Up to $25,000 in grants for small businesses and not-for-profit organisations.
- A $12 million community relief fund for local councils, for the Local Government Areas of Barcoo, Boulia, Bulloo, Diamantina, Longreach, Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie and Winton.

“Our local Mayors have led the communities through this traumatic time and ensured families, businesses and producers can get some support,” David Littleproud continued.
“I would like to thank the Queensland Premier David Crisafulli also, who has been working around the clock to support Western Queenslanders during this extremely tough time.
“In speaking to the Premier, I made the case to emulate what was done in the 2019 NWQ floods, with a Western Queensland lens of including repairing exclusion fencing, and initial indications is that the Premier is delivering.
“There is still a long way to go and this is just the start of what will be an enormous recovery, but I welcome this funding and 100 per cent back this crucial announcement.”
More than 145,000 head of cattle and sheep have so far been reported as missing or dead. David Littleproud predicts the coming days would be the most difficult for primary producers, as flood waters recede.
“It’s important Western Queensland communities feel supported and are given any help that is available. I also acknowledge the tireless work of our emergency services and volunteers,” David Littleproud concluded.
The Queensland Government has also announced disaster funding will be extended to support eligible sport and recreation organisations, with grants of $5000 now available.
