Aware of the often-tight window for spraying, Knight Machinery of the UK has developed boom lighting for all its sprayers to enable operation in low light conditions or at night.
The system shines a blue light through the spray pattern so operators can monitor whether all nozzles are performing efficiently.
Powerful BlueBeam LED spotlights with 2700 effective lumens ensure operators get full visibility of the spray pattern along the entire length of the boom.
The lights are illuminated when the tractor lights are turned on and activated with a switch on an in-cab screen.
For spraying widths up to 24 metres wide two lights are fitted to the machine’s back-frame, each illuminating one wing section.
For wider booms a second light is fitted halfway along the boom to illuminate the outer section.
The lights can be supplied as original equipment or retrofitted to existing machines.
Estimated prices are $750 for two lights and $1450 for four.
