If a collector can afford to pay $1.05 million for a second-hand 2017 Holden Maloo Ute, then AU$438,000 is a small price to pay for this spritely 2021 Maserati get-about

The Maserati MC20 has been selected as the Super Sports Car of The Year in the GQ Car Awards for 2021. In place of the usual ceremony, the awards were broadcast on British GQ’s IGTV.
According to British GQ, “Maserati has an allure that refuses to be extinguished and the release of the MC20 proves the brand is once again red hot.
“All-new, technically fascinating, and with a mid-mounted 460kW (626bhp) twin-turbo V6, the MC20 is classy, charismatic and alternative.”
Davide Grasso, Maserati CEO added, “The launch of the MC20 last year heralded a new era for Maserati, and we’re delighted that the hard work put in by the team has been recognised by British GQ.
“We’re proud of what this award means for Maserati and we’re very much looking forward to our brave new future with this first-of-its-kind car.
“We are innovative by nature, powered by passion and unique by design. These are the same values that spurred the Maserati brothers over 106 years ago, and they are the same values that from Modena take flight and put Maserati in the spotlight of the global mobility stage.”
Designed at the Centro Stile Maserati in Turin, the MC20 heralds a new era for Maserati and the brand’s return to the super sports car segment.
This car is able to combine mind-blowing performance, ground-breaking technology and audacious technical solutions.
Developed by the Maserati Innovation Lab and produced at the historic plant in Modena, MC20 is 100% made in Italy.
Its superb looks conceal an uncompromisingly sporty soul, with the new 463kW (630hp) V6 Nettuno engine that delivers 0-100kph acceleration in under 2.9 seconds and a top speed over 325kph.
The patented engine has been conceived, developed, designed and built entirely by Maserati and uses a pre-chamber technology derived from Formula 1 engines. With the new super sports car MC20, the Trident Brand officially started a new era.
