High country spirit is displayed during a lively three-day festival celebrating heritage and horsemanship from 17 to 19 October 2025
The high country will come alive this spring at Molyullah VIC, situated just 20km outside the regional centre of Benalla VIC, across a spectacular three-day festival in celebration of heritage, horsemanship, and high-country spirit.
The Mountain Cattlemen’s Association has set a vibrant program and will put on a display to welcome all families, horse enthusiasts, and anyone seeking an unforgettable high-country experience.
This year’s get-together promises an enriched experience that follows the tradition of raising cattle and horses in the mountain wilderness.
Leading events on the program to catch include
- Horse Competitions: Watch top riders tackle four exhilarating stages—bareback obstacles, mounted whip crack, dry work patterns, and cattle handling. Competitors vie for doubled prize money in 2025, adding extra excitement to every round.
- Heritage Displays & Speakers: Step into Victoria’s pioneering past with living history exhibits and interactive sessions that honour both Mountain Cattlemen and all Victorian pioneers.
