New Holland adds Electro Command transmission to PowerStar Series

The PowerStar tractor Series from New Holland grows with the addition of two electro command models that offer high utility power levels

New Holland has added Electro Command to PowerStar 110 and 120 models to place them at the top of the utility tractor series with rated engine power at 81 and 88kW (110 and 120hp)

In a year of many advancements in the new Holland PowerStar tractor Series, the lineup is making another significant step by unveiling two models loaded with the all-new PowerStar Electro Command transmission.

Already making its global debut on the northern hemisphere show circuit, PowerStar Electro Command 110 and 120 models now sit at the top of the PowerStar series as flagship models.

The Electro Commandtransmission option offers PowerStar operators unprecedented power through an automatic transmission and also includes added lift capacity to 5.2 tonnes, along with advanced operator functions.

These models differ from the existing PowerStar models that run a standard 12×12 transmission, with a column-mounted electronic power shuttle, available on the three largest models, the PowerStar 100, 110, and 120.

The PowerStar cab with a high-visibility roof panel and panoramic front windscreen offers a clear line of sight while the mid-mount joystick operates everything from one control point

The full line of New Holland PowerStar tractors now stands at five models offering engine power from 54 to 86kW (74 to 117hp) with strong back-up at the pto ranging from 48 to 74kW (65 to 100hp) deliver the power required to effortlessly handle draft jobs.

Operators can choose from a 2WD or 4WD front axle and an ergonomic cab or ROPS platform coupled with efficient engines and a 12×12 transmission with a column mounted

power shuttle. Or move up to the semi-powershift transmission PowerStar Electro Command 110 or 120.

Most operators will order a PowerStar paired with a rugged LU Series loader that’s installed at the factory and under full warranty.

The PowerStar 120 with Electro Command is now the flagship utility model that is set apart with its 16×16 semi-powershift transmission a long-requested function from utility operators

PowerStar additions

“This latest addition to our PowerStar family is redefining comfort, control and productivity in the utility tractor segment,” outlined Alex Berwager, livestock and dairy business manager for New Holland North America.

“With premier functions, enhanced performance and Electro Command semi-powershift transmission, these are the most capable PowerStar tractors ever built. We believe cattle and livestock producers will feel right at home in the cab of one of these tractors, whether feeding their herd or in the paddock making hay,” Alex Berwager concluded.

“This is the PowerStar that bridges the gap between utility and agricultural performance, delivering the versatility of a utility model with the power, comfort and technology you’d expect from a production-class agricultural tractor,” added Lena Patton, product marketing manager for New Holland North America.

“It’s the most comfortable and highest-performing tractor ever put into this series. Whether you’re in the livestock or crop segment, the PowerStar Electro Command is designed to make long days in the cab feel shorter and more productive,” Lena Patton assured.

Compact powerful yet practical

The two additional models loaded with PowerStar Electro Command, the 110 and 120, deliver serious performance from their utility-sized footprint with rated engine power at 81 and 88kW (110 and 120hp).

Backing everything up at draft performance is pto-power of 68 and 74kW (92 and 100hp), ideally suited for utility level power for crop, dairy and general livestock farm.

With a rear lift capacity of more than 5.2 tonnes, the Electro Command has nearly double the rear lift capacity compared to other PowerStar tractors and utility tractors. This attribute gives operators greater capability to haul heavier feed loads and bales than any other utility tractor.

Along with using R38 tyres, the PowerStar Electro Command offers the ground clearance and power expected from larger frame tractors without compromising manoeuvrability.

The 110 and 120 are both fitted with an 80-litre/min load-sensing hydraulic pump that delivers targeted power exactly where it’s needed to maximise efficiency and maintain light, precise steering.

Up to three rear remotes and electronic or mid-mount valves support a wide range of implements for a variety of tasks, including feeding livestock, baling hay and spreading fertiliser.

A PowerStar Electro Command model can also be equipped with a CNH loader to meet their operational needs, making it easier to customise the tractor to fit their workflow.

Transmission built for on demand

An update that sets the PowerStar Electro Command apart is its 16×16 semi-powershift transmission, a long-requested function from utility models.

Unlike a more traditional 12×12 transmission or Dual Command’s high/low split found on other PowerStar tractors, this configuration allows clutchless shifts between key ranges such as A/B and C/D. And includes up to eight automatic gear shifts without even pressing a button for seamless, automatic gear shifting.

This transmission technology, well-proven on other New Holland tractor lines, is specifically designed for tasks that involve frequent load changes, like working hilly terrain, to reduce operator fatigue and improve output consistency by providing auto modes for applications.

The transmission also sports an ECO speed mode that increases fuel consumption efficiency and reduces engine noise.

Designed for comfort and control

The PowerStar Electro Command is available as a cab-only model, with operator features and functionalities tailored for long workdays.

A newly available cab suspension system, paired with an air suspension seat that includes fore and aft movement, absorbs shock loads and improves operator comfort by up to 25%, compared to a cab without suspension.

This enhanced comfort is a welcome attribute for operators spending long hours manoeuvring over rough terrain.

New Holland PowerStar utility tractors are equally at ease working in the paddock or around yards due to their compact design as shown with this 2025 model release

A PowerStar also has the option of a suspended front axle. This optional further enhances the tractor’s ride quality and helps maintain constant contact with the ground. The result includes enhanced traction and implement control that better protects both the tractor and operator from jarring loads.

Inside the cab of a PowerStar is a high-visibility roof panel and panoramic front windscreen provide clear lines of sight, especially when operating a front loader.

A new electronic mid-mount joystick lets the operator shift gears, declutch and operate the loader all from one control point to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary motion.

A PowerStar tractor with Electro Command is the first in the series to offer full joystick gear control, a function only available previously in higher powered New Holland models.

Operation data more accessible

New Holland FieldOps telematics comes as standard on Electro Command model year 2026 tractors. This base package includes real-time location tracking, engine performance monitoring and fuel and DEF level visibility.

An optional advanced telematics package can be added, allowing operators or their dealer technician to dive even deeper into analytics and real-time machine data, accessing fault codes and operating data remotely for more proactive maintenance and uptime planning.

The PowerStar Electro Command 110 and 120 model year 2026 is available to order now following its global debut in the northern hemisphere.

New Holland’s PowerStar Series tractors have been synonymous with power, utility and comfort, with Electro Command now building on that legacy and upping the level of engineering and performance.
