Get along to the Hort Business Summit where vegetable growers will get access to all the information they need to a successful operation

Vegetable growers will have a lot to see at the Hort Business Summit that will be held in Melbourne on National Ag Day, Friday 20 November 2026, with registrations open now.
In addition to a wealth of information, AUSVEG and Achmea Farm Insurance will be announcing a Strategic Partnership that will focus on strengthening industry connections and generally support the long-term requirements of vegetable growers.
The strategic partnership brings Achmea Farm Insurance’s expertise in farm insurance and farming risk mitigation together with AUSVEG’s role representing vegetable growers and fostering knowledge exchange, connection and adoption of world’s best practice in Australian vegetable production.
The partnership, which includes support as an Event Partner of the Hort Business Summit, will enable collaboration on key industry issues and provide Australian vegetable growers with access to information, events, and opportunities that support effective business management, protect operational continuity, and mitigate risks.

Achmea Farm Insurance Chief Client Officer Glenn Rosbrook outlines the strategy, “Vegetable growers play a vital role in putting fresh, healthy food on tables across the country, while managing a range of risks that come with running a farming business.
“As a specialist farm insurer, we believe our role goes beyond simply being there when something goes wrong. We want to work alongside growers to help them better understand and manage risk and build more resilient farming businesses.
Through our new strategic partnership with AUSVEG, we look forward to sharing practical risk management knowledge and insights, including learnings from the Netherlands and other agricultural markets around the world. It’s all part of our purpose of keeping farmers farming and growers growing,” Glenn Rosbrook assured.

AUSVEG CEO Michael Coote added, “AUSVEG is proud to launch our new Strategic Partnership with Achmea Farm Insurance. Our two companies share a common commitment to helping growers’ businesses by giving them access to practical information and connections that support the adoption of international best practice and help them manage risk.
“In addition, by gaining access to Achmea Farm Insurance’s specialist and direct farm insurance knowledge, vegetable growers will be able learn from Achmea’s local and international experience, which will provide additional opportunities for global knowledge sharing and connection building with growers in other parts of the world.
“We’re pleased to launch this new Strategic Partnership with Achmea Farm Insurance which will support AUSVEG’s efforts in delivering relevant information, events and connections for vegetable growers,” Michael Coote concluded
