Bourgault is introducing the third generation of its ParaLink Hoe Drill. Frame designs have been updated with an expanded range of options and the ability to automatically adjust seeding depth from the comfort of the tractor cab.
The third generation has two new models; the 3330SE replaces the 3320 Standard Edition, with depth control set at the individual opener level and the new 3335QDA replaces the 3320 Quick Depth Adjust models, allowing frame height adjustment for quick and easy seed depth adjustment.
Available on the 3335 is the new AccuSet depth adjustment technology. AccuSet uses ‘smart’ hydraulic cylinders, controlled by an app on your smartphone, mounted on the frame castor wheels to raise and lower the frame.
The operator is now able to automatically adjust the seed depth from the cab, allowing the ability to change the seeding depth ‘on-the-go’ as paddock conditions change. Bourgault claims no other machine in the market has this level of seed placement control available at the push of a button.
Openers have also been updated with three options available.
The ParaLink Xtreme (PLX) is the same 1:1 contour ratio opener that was formally known as the XTC opener. The PLX excels at close ground following in undulating ground conditions. Previously unavailable on QDA models, the PLX is now available on 3335 machines fitted with AccuSet.
The ParaLink Single (PLS) is the next generation of the PHD opener. Using the same shank as its predecessor, the range of Bourgualt Tillage Tools and aftermarket seed boot options still apply to the new model.
The new ParaLink Dual shank (PLD) is a dual shank opener based on the PLS parallel linkage design. The parallel linkage is designed to allow the fertiliser knife to maintain a constant angle of attack as it follows paddock undulations, while the seed knife places the seed slightly higher and to the side of the fertiliser.
The seed knife is adjustable both horizontally and vertically, to allow greater separation and accuracy of seed placement.
All opener models come with several packer wheel options and are compatible with Bourgault’s PackMaster feature, to maintain even packing over the paddock regardless of moisture variations.
Bourgault says its third generation machines have been designed to deliver an even germination through accurate seed depth and even packing pressure, all while easing the pressure on the operator, meaning even relatively inexperienced operators can produce great results.
