Their efforts have now been recognised on the national stage. In addition to multiple awards, the Wheel Track Renovator II recently claimed Best New Release at the Yorke Peninsula Field Days, further cementing its position as the leading option when it comes to effective CTF track renovation.
Fast smooth and more consistent operation
The updated design of the Wheel Track Renovator II allows operators to work effectively between 10 and 25kph, to restore tracks at a high level of productivity across all controlled traffic systems.
This broadened operating range means growers can better match ground speed to conditions without sacrificing quality or consistency.
Grizzly built-in this higher level of performance through feedback from operators that prompted engineer upgrades including heavy-duty steel guards, optimised disc angles, and upgraded roller options – all contributing to a smoother, cleaner finish.
Once in the paddock at work the Wheel Track Renovator II is totally independent from any operator input.
It automatically adjusts the discs to the required depth with the wheel track that allows the discs to go deeper or shallower.
It can operate from no wheel track at all to a depth down to 200mm (8-in) or 300mm (12-in) in a single pass, with the gauge wheel able to continually respond to any changes in track conditions.
Added innovations to combat wet sticky soil
The wet 2024-25 summer season across northern NSW and Queensland revealed a challenge for track renovators that required an engineering fix, to combat roller blockages in sticky soil.
In response, Grizzly sprang into action, and its engineers developed a chain roller option that sheds mud faster and virtually eliminate the possibility of clogging up the roller.
This allows the Renovator II to keep working in conditions that would traditionally halt other disc-and-roller systems.
More options for challenging track ruts
Recognising no two farms – or wheel tracks – are the same, Grizzly has also introduced more configuration options.
These upgrades include:
• Coulter options to help manage tracking and hold the centre of the wheel track
better in heavy, deep tracks or contours.
• Additional disc options to pull more soil from wider out, ideal for multi-year ruts, deep holes, and wider
controlled-traffic systems.
• Hydraulically adjustable gang widths to suit 2 to 4m wheel tracks.
• An important addition of a new, more aggressive shark tooth roller that is able to improve clod breakdown
and, as a result, give an even finish.
The Renovator II’s trailed design is a distinct advantage as it allows it to operate with complete independence from the tractor.
This enables it to work harder as required in more difficult undulating ground and makes it much faster and easier to connect at the drawbar.
Backed by a well proven paddock performance
The Renovator II has already been worked across all states for several seasons in some of the harshest and most variable ground conditions.
It runs very smoothly behind tractor power from 110kW (150hp) upward, as it is able to adapt dynamically to changing ground conditions, and is low maintenance, with no manual greasing required.
Grizzly is also preparing for autonomous farming systems. The Wheel Track Renovator II is now being evaluated for compatibility with driverless power platforms, a testament to the machine’s stability and predictable performance.
Factory build extends the model range
The Renovator II is available in single units for irrigator tracks and double units from 1.8m track centres up to 4m centres for controlled traffic farming (CTF).
The two most popular factory run models in the updated CTF model range includes the GTR23 – ideal for 2.0 to 3.2m track widths, with a handy 4.0m transport width.
And the GTR24 – that is easily adjustable from 2.0 to 4.0m track widths, with a transport width of 5.0m.
