Armed with shot lists for working footage of the Magnum Rowtrac, it was some fortuitous afternoon light, children playing and the ever-hospitable Narrabri-Wee Waa farming community which ended up shaping the new ad, said Case IH Asia Pacific brand marketing and communications manager, Gemma Butler-Fleming.

“When we returned to Sydney, we had hours of additional footage, and throughout the editing process we ended up mostly selecting candid shots instead of the ones we’d planned,” she said.

“For example, one afternoon we were shooting at Dale Smith’s place ‘Scotsburn’ and the kids – Will Smith, 5; Charlie Smith, 9; Sarah Smith, 7, and Kaitlan Schwager, 4 – were playing nearby, using a pipe as a balance beam.

“With the beautiful afternoon light, it was a perfect fit for the ad, so we kept it in – so there’s four local stars right there.”

In total, eight people from the Narrabri and Wee Waa districts appear in the new ad, along with others from Wagga Wagga who were filmed in a later shoot.
