Caterpillar has release the 903D for sale into Australia and New Zealand and this new model complements Cat’s existing compact wheel loaders the 906K, 907K and 908K.
The 903D offers a comfortable operator station, a styling consistent with the Cat® compact wheel loaders range and an impressive combination of operating weight, power, and performance in a compact class.
This model is powered by a Cat C2.4 engine that is rated at 30kW (40hp) and offers gross power up to 31kW (42hp). The engine meets US EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards.
The 903D has an operating weight of just 4,270kg and this makes it ideal for general farm applications.
As an articulated loader it is able provide the best combination of fast and efficient loading as well as the ability to fit a variety of attachments. This turns the 903D into a multi-purpose machine for completing both large and small jobs around the farm.
The 903D can be fitted with general purpose buckets up to 1.0 cubic metres for general or light material loading and when fitted with pallet forks it achieves a rated operating load of 1,330kg.
When selecting a model in the less than 45kW (60hp) power category, many buyers want a simple, yet capable machine and the Cat 903D is able to meet that criteria and more.

Available with either an open or enclosed cab, the 903D operator’s station features a refined ergonomic design with a new multi-function joystick that provides fingertip control of the standard third function hydraulic system.
With the choice of standard or high lift boom arms, this increases the 903D’s ability to work efficiently in a wide range of applications.
Equipped with an industry-standard Skid steer coupler interface, the 903D is ready to work in a variety of applications found within agriculture, landscaping, construction and industrial segments.
Operator station
The new cab is more comfortable and quieter with greater working visibility through the front windshield that is equal in size to the 906K, 907K and 908K models.
A canopy option is also available for customers that prefer an open operator environment.
An optional ride control activation switch and a creeper dial allows for easy adjustment of ground speed while maintaining engine speed to deliver optimum hydraulic power. There is a raised platform for heel to rest on while using the throttle pedal to control speed.
The multi-function joystick controller with F-N-R, differential locks and a third valve auxiliary in one easy to use joystick, this provides precise modulation for excellent control.
Clear service access
The limited overhang engine hood provides excellent rearward visibility. Rear counterweight and tyres protect the engine enclosure and frame. While the fully opening hood allows generous, ground level service access
Quality components
There is an integrated fuel filter and water separator with view-thru bowl.
To ensure a controlled level there is a remote AC condenser.
Engineers have fitted a side by side engine and hydraulic coolers. There is a remote rear axle bearing grease point. A Cat maintenance free battery with disconnect.
Along with quality water and heat resistant, protected harnesses, and sealed electrical DT connectors.
