The Wombat deep ripper works 11 or 13 tines across 6-metres and with its study frame and 8 tonnes breakout shear pins it is able to renovate the hardest pans

The Wombat deep ripper was released in time for growers to prepare their ground for the 2020-21 season and it was a great success.
Following three years of devastating drought in many of the top growing regions in NSW and QLD, the Wombat was put into work to dig up what had become some very hard pans.
Even before the bad run of droughts some ground was suffering from changed soil profiles from years of livestock and machinery compaction and very low yields were making ground unprofitable to plant.
Many growers turned to deep ripping with the Wombat to harvest moisture when substantial rains come to prevent the water running off fields and allow the rain to get down deeper where it can be stored.
A further benefit of deep ripping with the Wombat was to be able to add soil ameliorants, which in turn aided an increase nutrient holding capacity when the rains came for the 2020-21 planting season.
The soil was enriched with nutrients throughout its profile, there were no longer any hard pans down to 550mm (22-inches), the growing season was off to a good start.
Countrywide Industries has designed the Wombat deep ripper to meet the majority of tasks for heavy soil renovation, they build rippers up to 13 tines in one rigid section with a rear crumble roller. Larger sizes have folding wings.

The 6-metre working width fits into the requirements for most farm operations and requires 257 to 368kW (350 to 500hp) of tractor power.
And to make sure the Wombat Ripper can be used in the toughest undergrowth it has been designed with a tine height/under frame clearance of 700mm (28-inches).
The Wombat has been built to withstand some heavy knocks it runs with 8 tonnes breakout shear pins.
These pins are specifically made as replaceable shear pin cheek plates, for easy maintenance in the paddock if any situation arises.
A larger tine is available if required, this increases break-out capacity to 11 tonnes and gives a generous 870mm (34 inches) of under bar clearance.
For added stability there are dual
cylinders fitted on the crumble roller, and this allows for some pretty heavy material to be processed. There is depth stop brackets on all cylinders.

The heavy gang bearings on the crumble roller are designed to withstand extreme pressure and as a result reduce downtime for greater productivity, and this relates to overall reduced cost.
Countrywide Industries has fitted heavy duty 70 Series stub axles with triple lip seals. The heavy axles can stand extreme pressure when lifting the ripper out of the ground whilst the tynes are hooked under a layer of compaction.
The Wombat Ripper is fitted with 265/70R 19.5 18 ply tyres and runs at a working rate of 7.2 tonnes.
Countrywide Industries is very highly credentialled when it comes to manufacturing special, customised solutions for ground-breaking agricultural machinery.
You will need tractor power from 257 to 368kW (350 to 500hp) for the 11 tine model and power from 368 to 441kW (500 to 600hp) for the 13 tine model, depending on depth and soil conditions.
The arsenal of tines are made from high tensile wear steel.

The finish is important – it’s the rear roller that completes the incorporation, for levelling out to a perfect finish for planting.
The rear roller breaks down clods from football size to 12-30mm which still allows for moisture inflow but seals the moisture in and reduces moisture loss after ripping.
The wombat ripper can be ordered with two rows of in-line tines for special
applications. This magnificent machine would have 26 tines on the 13 tine model.
Typically the tines are drilled to allow a 150mm (6-inch) height adjustment to allow for progressive tillage. All tines can be pinned up out of the way if not required.
A wide range of attachment are available with inclusion plates for one row and
fertiliser tubes for the other tines. A delta wing can be added for extra break out if required and a rear air seeder hitch can also be added.
