Farmet Diskomat Speed Discs are in strong demand as attention turns to ground prep

In stock now is a range of new and ex-demo Softer and Diskomat Speed Discs models with working widths from 2.5m in 3PL models as well as large 12m trailing models

James Gubbins from Nerrin Nerrin VIC was one of the first to give the Farmet disc seeder a try as the 6m Farmet Softer Speed disc was set up perfectly for his operation with a rear rubber tyre roller and a 300-litre Microdrill air seeder attachment that allowed him to achieve a time saving one-pass operation

The Farmet badge was first introduced to local farmers in early 2020 through the Serafin Machinery distribution network.

Manufactured in the Czech Republic for hard unforgiving ground, the Farmet range has quickly proven itself as a quality brand of tillage machinery that can stand up to our local conditions.

Local farmers have gone on to embrace the brand and often comment on its strong build and how it has provided them with an exceptional product at a very reasonable price tag.

Farmer James Gubbins of Nerrin Nerrin near lake Bolac VIC purchased one of Serafin Machinery’s first 6m Farmet Softer Speed discs to land here, back in mid-2020.

James’ model was set up nicely from the factory and he could see how it would suit his operation. it was fitted with the optional Rear Rubber Tyre Roller and 300-litre Microdrill air seeder attachment.

“I’ve done just over 404ha (1,000 acres) now with the Softer and I have found it awesome. I’ve done some virgin pasture ground that hadn’t been touched for 50 years and it penetrated fantastic but most of all, it always left a beautiful level finish” James said.

“Penetration hasn’t been an issue and I put it into some hard ground. You are always going to really give it a test out in the first few months to see what it can handle and whatever I have thrown at this, it has worked a treat.”

“I have also put it through some really wet, muddy ground with some trash and that really surprised me with how well it handled it. I was bogging the tractor continually that whole paddock but only managed to block up the Softer once.”

James explained, “It must be the angle and shape of the disc as well as the disc spacing that allows it to keep the trash and mud from building up and keep it all flowing through. I have tried at least four or five other types of speed discs before and none of them even come close to this machine.”

“I put some summer pasture in with the Microdrill seeder and it did an amazing job too. The seeder is a piece of cake to operate and it grew an exceptional crop. Overall, I am absolutely stoked with my Farmet Softer speed disc and would recommend it to anyone in that market,” James concluded.

As the Farmet name kicked on since its mid 2020 release other farmers have taken on board the reliability these units offer such as the 8 metre working width Softer 8Ps trailing speed disc/multi disc model shown here

Serafin Machinery currently has in stock a range of brand new and ex-demo Softer and Diskomat Speed Discs available right now, but don’t expect these models to last long before they are snapped up.

Including on the inventory list for immediate sale are 2.5m and 3.5m three-point linkage models that are ideal for medium size farm operations, and in addition for larger-scale holding there are models ideal for working across wider widths including 6m, 8.5m and 12m trailing models.
