Kerin Engineering develops its quality built and cost effective models further

Expect to see a Kerin Engineering model on every farm as they build a Feeder-Grouper a lick feeder and the ideal farm trailer with a crate and loading ramps

One of the most popular models from Kerin Engineering is the dual-purpose Feeder-Grouper that saves the cost of a second machine as it can be used for feeding out all year round and as a grouper to collect grain at harvest time

Kerin Engineering has been serving the Central West of NSW for more than 30 years and can now supply to all regions of the country its renowned range of products with the practicality and reliability that farmers seek.

This family-owned business designs and manufactures all its own products at the company’s premises in Yeoval NSW where a quality finish is always guaranteed.

The company has always focussed on products that will improve efficiency on farms and as a result help to get farmers’ productivity up. Kerin Engineering products are now found on farms across Australia.

The company has had great success with its three main products, the multi-purpose feeder and grouper, flat-top trailers that can be fitted with removable stock crates and loading ramps, and sheep and cattle lick feeders.

The Kerin multipurpose feeder-grouper is available in 48 and 60-bag capacity models, with a 50/50 and 60/40 bin split respectively and also in truck-mounted (table-top) and triaxle variants

Multipurpose Feeder Grouper

Kerin’s multi-purpose feeder-grouper has eliminated the need for two machines by designing a model that combines the attributes of a feeder and groups them into one machine.

The Kerin feeder-grouper has become the most versatile piece of equipment on any farm as it eliminates the need for multiple machines for filling feed bins, combines, and trail feeding. This model can be used all year round.

Available in 48 and 60-bag models, with a 50/50 and 60/40 bin split respectively, Kerin’s feeder-grouper is built with a split division and additive box that allows three different products to go through the auger at once. For example, Wheat, Oats and Lime.

The multipurpose feeder and groupers are also available in truck-mounted (table-top) and triaxle variants.

Each model has a long auger that allows easy filling of combines, air seeders and feed bins, and for trail feeding the electric door controlled from the cab can have two grains mixing as it pours out onto the ground without using the motor.

The feeder-grouper has proved ideal for lot feeding and is designed for easy maintenance, with a minimum of moving parts. Scales are now an available option.

This is the trailer that every farm needs with an optional removable stock crate and loading ramp and fitted with 4-tonne tandem rocker springs able to handle a heavy load

Flat top trailers

The Kerin flat-top trailer can incorporate an optional removable stock crate 1100mm high and is designed to cart as many as 48 lambs. In addition, it can be optioned with a loading ramp for quick stock access anywhere around the farm.

And the versatility of these trailers doesn’t end there as it has an opening side gate that gives access to load a pallet of fertiliser or farm chemicals to be loaded for the return trip.

While the trailers ready for delivery come in standard sizes of 4.0 x 2.4 and 4.5 x 2.4 metres, any custom sizing can also be built by Kerin Engineering.

These trailers will handle a heavy load as they are fitted with 4-tonne tandem rocker springs and the two 50mm axels have 300mm (12-inch) electric brakes for assisted stopping as required.

Kerin lick feeders are available for both sheep and cattle and have been proven to save on the amount of feed an animal needs to retain the same weight – they are fully welded with a reinforced bottom and can even be moved when at 2 cub.m (24 bag) capacity

Lick Feeders

Kerin Engineering immediately saved livestock producers money by designing a lick feeder that could achieve the same animal weight by only feeding one-third of the grain, as compared to a conventional bin method.

The Kerin lick feeder has become the model of choice following a study involving 600 lambs.

Half were fed using two conventional feeding bins and the other half were fed using two lick feeding bins.

After three months 20 lambs from each mob were weighed and were found to be approximately the same weight. The ratio of grain saved by using the lick feeding system was 3:1.

Kerin lick feeders are built to last, are fully welded with a reinforced bottom and they’re strong enough to be moved when at 2 cub.m (24 bags) capacity.

The sheep model has a height of 1500mm and a width of 1060mm plus a further 400mm for shelter wings and is 2400mm long, the capacity is 2 cub.m (24 bags).

While the cattle lick feeder has a height of 1800mm and a width of 1060mm plus a further 400mm for shelter wings and is 2400mm long, the capacity is 2 cub.m (24 bags).
