As the MagGrow system is being offered internationally the company has secured its first local client, a spray contractor based in South Australia

MagGrow has been busy raising an 18 million Euro war-chest to commercialise and expand a system that fits onto any spray boom that the company says will reduce waste and save money when applying pesticide spray applications.
The system has been patented as proprietary technology and is designed for retrofit and can be plumbed to work with any sprayer boom, regardless of make or model.
Made from cast aluminum it weighs just 16kg. With no moving parts, the system is easily installed onto the main body of the sprayer. Dimensions are 556 x 310 x 81mm.
Parts in the MagGrow system have been pressure rated for 15 bar(217psi) with a maximum operating pressure of 11 bar(160psi).
The Irish AgTech company is coming off a win for its entry in the International Innovation Award at the 2020 Field days in New Zealand, with a system that MagGrow says significantly reduces waste associated with conventional pesticide spray applications.
Kennedy Spraying Services in Mt Gambier SA is the first to adopt the MagGrow spray technology in Australia.
Andrew Kennedy says he adopted the pioneering spray technology, MagGrow, after being introduced to the product through distributor SST GPS based in Jerilderie NSW.
Andrew Kennedy said, “I can immediately see the benefits MagGrow has delivered to my spray application.
“The system has greatly reduced drift, increased coverage and increased the productivity of my spraying practices.
“This enables better crop protection for our grower customers, delivering greater disease and pest control leading to better crop health.
“ Using the MagGrow system will also provide my contracting business with greater compliance as we are now faced with increasingly stricter environmental legislation.” Andrew concluded.
MagGrow reminds us that with conventional crop spraying, approximately 70% of crop protection products do not reach the intended target, resulting in drift, runoff, wasted input materials and cost.

According to MagGrow, their system delivers a more consistent spray profile, resulting in higher levels of pesticide coverage within the plant canopy.
This allows growers to achieve higher coverage while using their current application rate, or the same coverage using a lower application rate.
The patented, proprietary technology MagGrow has developed passes pesticides through magnetic fields under appropriate flow conditions and changes the physical properties of the fluid.
This system according to MagGrow delivers both superior spray drift control and crop coverage. And claims increased spray coverage performance ranging from 20% to well over a 100% compared to conventional spraying.
The MagGrow system consists of two main components with no moving parts, no electrical parts, virtually no maintenance and is compatible with any sprayer brand and boom width.

Jack Kavanagh, MagGrow Business Development Manager Australasia commented, “This has been an exciting journey for MagGrow in Australia. The MagGrow system provides a real win-win for growers, allowing them to grow more while using less.
“MagGrow delivers greater profitability through reduced water rates, reduced inputs and greater efficiencies during spraying.
“And MagGrow typically provides growers with a return on investment of less than one year. This in turn supports better agriculture and protects the environment. “
The unit supplied to Kennedy Spraying Services was through SST GPS based in Jerilderie NSW, the MagGrow distributor for Central and Southern NSW, SA and VIC.
Brad Parker, Business Development Manager with SST GPS said, “We are delighted to partner with MagGrow on this leading cutting-edge technology.
“Through innovative solutions we offer our growers greater productivity, profitability and sustainability.
“MagGrow’s technology delivers on these three core benefits enabling farmers to drive cost efficiencies across their operations.
“We look forward to delivering this technology to our other customers and driving greater sustainability across Australian agriculture.”
