A large money deposit seals the deal for Brandt Tractor to rebrand successful NZ dealer AGrowQuip NZ Ltd to become part of the Brandt Tractor Group

It’s now official, the Brandt Group of Companies has made a significant monetary transaction that successfully places the assets and dealer yards of AGrowQuip NZ Ltd within its own operation.
The name changes and asset transfer for the acquisition deal first announced in November 2022 were made as agreed on 30 January 2023. See our coverage of the lead-up and subsequent purchase on this link.
AGrowQuip was seen as a very successful NZ dealership with the John Deere badge at its core. At the time of the take-over, it was operating from seven locations in New Zealand, with three specialising in construction and forestry machinery. Brandt was already operating 10 John Deere dealership yards in NZ at the time.
Brandt has made no secret of its endeavours to devour more John Deere dealerships both in NZ and AU, and many expect some ageing and tired dealer principals to succumb to the big dollars on offer.
Brandt CEO, Shaun Semple outlined, “This transaction ensures access to the industry’s broadest support infrastructure for customers throughout the North Island, delivering the products, parts and service they need, wherever they are operating, from Cape Reinga to Wellington.
“In the future, our customers can look forward to service enhancements via investment in a best-in-class field service truck fleet and upgrades to existing facilities.
“Brandt is fully committed to building a comprehensive dealer infrastructure that delivers unmatched support for New Zealand Construction, Forestry and Agricultural businesses, every single day.
With this acquisition concluded, Brandt owns and operates 138 dealerships, mainly with John Deere as the lead badge across vast tracts of Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Their extensive experience in the agriculture, construction and forestry sectors enables them to deliver the quality products and industry-best support services that New Zealand equipment owners need to help them grow their businesses.
“As a family-owned business for over 90 years, Brandt’s number one focus is always on the people and our customers.
“Whether it’s getting to know our new team, helping our customers succeed or supporting the communities in which they live, we look forward to deepening our roots on the North Island,” Brandt CEO, Shaun Semple concluded.
Farm machinery sales are at their highest levels in decades and for some specialist tractor models, there is a factory waiting list stretching out to February 2024.
