Case IH Optum tractors now have added appeal to Controlled Traffic Farming with the factory build option of a 3 metre centre

This factory-supported set-up allows Optum tractors to seamlessly integrate into fixed tramline systems, helping reduce soil compaction, improve water infiltration, and increase long-term productivity with full factory warranty support.
It’s a move that reflects Case IH’s ongoing commitment to delivering practical, high-performance solutions for broadacre operations.

Case IH Optum Series
Growers in several broadacre farming regions are taking the opportunity to look at factory-built Case IH Optum tractors supplied on 3-metre centres, ideal for operating with Controlled Traffic Farming (CTF) operations.
Case IH’s Optus tractor series was first developed to fit the power gap between the Puma and Magnum range, and has gone on to be a very versatile offering with the Optum 270 and 300 joined by the higher-powered 340 model last year.
It is expected broadacre growers will levitate even further towards the Optum series with its CVT transmission and the advantage of a factory warranty for the 3-metre centre.

Once inside the cab, the AFS Pro 1200 with AFS Vision Pro screen comes into its own with one screen for everything including ISOBUS, guidance and agronomic data management, and an overall easier menu navigation, critical when in heavy paddock operation and also busy with other tasks.
Crucial for operators is the fact an AFS Connect Optum is easier to handle and gets over the ground more smoothly and efficiently with variable ration steering offering the provision of greater customisation to match tractor transmission behaviour with any farm task.
The Optum AFS Connect provides heavy-duty performance while maintaining its compact design and comes equipped with fully integrated advanced technology. And adding to that appeal is the 3-metre centre for the coming season.
The current power range includes the 270 with a rated engine power of 199kW (270hp), the Optum 300 with a rated engine power of 221kW (300hp), and the 340 with a rated engine power of 250kW (340hp).

Popular model introduction
Seamus McCarthy, Case IH Medium Tractor Product Manager for AU & NZ, said the 3-metre factory built set-up was introduced in response to strong demand from growers looking to align their machinery with CTF practices.
“We’ve seen a real shift in the market toward precision farming systems, particularly in cotton and horticulture, Seamus McCarthy explains.
“This 3-metre build will be fully covered by warranty, and allows customers to operate the Optum range with peace of mind and without compromising on power or technology.

“The Optum range already delivers outstanding power and operator comfort, and now with the 3-metre centre option, it’s even more versatile. It’s a smart solution for growers who need to travel between bed spacings with accuracy and consistency,” Seamus adds.
The Optum range offers engine power up to 250kW (340hp), and includes a more spacious and ergonomic cab, while advanced technology integration includes FieldOps™ for remote monitoring and machine management.
With extended service intervals and robust build quality from the renowned St. Valentin plant in Austria, Optum tractors are engineered for demanding tasks, including pto-work, tillage and spraying, while also being well credentialled for fast transport delivery.
