AusCut releases TruTill and arms you with everything you need for tillage

Everything you have ever wanted to do with tillage operations has just been made much simpler with the release of TruTill

The TruTill plough developed by AusCut has become the ultimate tillage tool for a one-pass operation while also being able to perform up to three individual paddock operations

For three generations, AusCut has been manufacturing farm machinery with a straightforward philosophy. Design it for Aussie conditions, build it tough, and make sure it works well.

That ethos has underpinned everything from their heavy-duty land rollers through to their stubble crunchers and broadacre slashers, and it’s that commitment to quality that has been very much front and centre in their latest addition to the line-up, the TruTill cultivator.

The TruTill cultivator arrived on the scene just in time for the 2025-26 season, and by all accounts it is exactly the do-it-all tillage model that many farmers have been waiting for.

AusCut sales manager Roly Larsen, who has been instrumental in bringing the TruTill to market, outlines how this tillage bar was born directly from what growers were telling them they needed.

Following the release of the TruTill cultivator able to handle everything including one-pass there is no need to buy several different models of tillage equipment to complete all tasks

“Farmers were asking for a plough that could work country to a depth of 150mm (6-inches) and finish it to a suitable seedbed in the same pass,” Roly expanded on the task he was set. “They didn’t want to own three or four pieces of tillage equipment to achieve that outcome.

“The end result of melding all these attributes together was the TruTill. It is effectively a true one-pass cultivatorl that changes the maths for a lot of operations.”

In an era when fuel costs and time pressures are front of mind for every farming business, the one-pass advantage is hard to overstate.

The TruTill has effectively replaced the need for multiple passes and several implements to achieve both primary tillage and the secondary levelling. The TruTill handles both procedures in a single run across the paddock.

And in the process is delivering real savings on fuel, labour, and machine overheads by reducing wear and tear.

TruTill is available in a trailing configurations in 3, 3.5 and 4m (9.8, 11.5 and 13-ft) widths or folding units to move between paddocks in 4, 5, and 6.5m (13, 16.5 and 21-ft) widths

Built to handle several jobbing tasks

At the core of the TruTill is a dual-disc unit offering the choice of either 660mm or 710mm (26- or 28-inch) discs, uniquely mounted in a captivated rubber torsion system.

The discs are set with a 12-degree undercut, and this gives what AusCut describes as a positive suspension that stops the disc location from flexing sideways under load.

The result is a full, clean cut to the soil with 100% cut-out and effective weed kill throughout the working depth.

The extra heavy-duty rubber-mounted headstocks are individually located, and that also makes sure the discs won’t wander sideways over time with wear and tear.

It’s the kind of detail that separates a machine built for real-world conditions from one that looks good on paper but gives you headaches when working it across a second season.

Disc rows are spaced 1300mm apart, providing ample clearance for residue and soil flow when working at depth. A width advantage that matters a great deal when you’re dealing with heavy stubble loads or high-trash situations.

Power requirements come in at a recommended 37 to 44kW/per metre width (50 to 60hp/m), which reflects the TruTill’s heavy-duty construction and the substantial disc capacity it carries.

In essence, the TruTill is a highly capable tillage machine designed for serious work.

Roller options to suit your ground

One of the TruTill’s real strengths is the flexibility it offers on the rear roller configuration.

AusCut has the advantage that it already manufactures a range of hydraulic roller options to suit many different soil types and seasonal conditions.

A necessity that has been bought about because what works in the self-mulching black soils of Moree NSW isn’t necessarily what you want in the sandy soil regions of Western Australia.

One of the most popular setups being fitted is a double roller configuration. This includes a knifing crumble roller upfront paired with a round bar roller on the rear.

The crumble roller does an excellent job of busting clods and separating root systems from the soil, while the round bar provides the finishing touch for a smooth, level seedbed.

However, for growers operating in tackier, heavier clay soils, a spring roller option is available to avoid soil packing up.

While for farm operations on lighter, sandy country where sealing the seedbed is the priority, there’s a press ring system to lock in moisture and reduce wind erosion risk.

Working widths to suit any scale

The TruTill is available across a wide range of working widths with the advantage to match any operational size that may be required.

The fixed trailing configurations come in 3m, 3.5m and 4m (9.8, 11.5 and 13-ft) while folding units are available in 4m, 5m, and 6.5m (13, 16.5 and 21-ft). Ideal for any operation needing to move between paddocks with ease.

Meanwhile, large-scale operations can step up to the 9.5 and 12.5m (31 and 41-ft) configurations. Impressive working widths that allow high-productivity operators to cover extensive ground in one shift.

A strong first season in the paddock

TruTill had a strong debut in season 2025-26, and Roly gave a summary of how the market’s response has exceeded expectations. “Sales over the last 12 months have been remarkably strong.

“A lot of positive results have been driven by farmers looking to plough out pasture country and bring it back into a cropping phase as efficiently as possible.”

Beyond the pasture-to-crop transition, another clear use for the TruTil has emerged.

“We’ve also seen a lot of interest from growers looking to incorporate lime and gypsum to deeper depths in the soil profile,” Roly notes. “The TruTill has performed extremely well in that application.

“It’s a reflection of how versatile the machine is. Equally at home doing primary tillage work as it is handling the soil amelioration jobs that are becoming increasingly important as growers address pH and soil structure issues across their operations,” Roly added.

Easy to set up and to operate

Even with all its heavy-duty credentials, one of the TruTill’s standout qualities has been its simplicity to operate.

The feedback from growers and operators has been consistent; the machine is exceptionally user-friendly when moving between different jobs and varying soil conditions.

“The simple hydraulic adjustment on the roller system makes it straightforward to set for whatever conditions you’re facing that day,” Roly confirmed. “The tilt mechanism also ensures minimum tracking, which is a big deal for operators.

“All units already come fitted with an extra adjustable disc that stops a soil mound or ridge from forming on the left-hand side of the machine. A small feature of the design, but one that makes a meaningful difference to the overall clean finish of the job.

Part of a broader equipment range

The TruTill joins an impressive line-up of farm equipment manufactured in Cowra NSW, a premier agricultural hub in the Central West, with three generations of farming and manufacturing history born into every machine.

AusCut’s extensive range of models also include big RollMax smooth drum land rollers for wide open spaces with working widths from 12.3m through to 24.8m (40 to 81-ft).

In addition, stablemate RollMax stubble crunchers are ideally suited to ensuring a smooth and easy seedbed preparation working across 12.3m to 18.3m (40 to 60-ft).

Apart from its wide working width the 18.3m TurboTopper incorporates a design consisting of five equal-size pivoting cutting decks that provide unrivalled ground contour following

While AusCut broadacre Turbotoppers are ready to handle all residue needs with ease. Sporting compact rotors that require less power and fuel, while added blades ensure precise stubble sizing. Models in the range span across 9.3m to 18.3m (30.5 to 60-ft).

While most farms will appreciate the very handy heavy-duty AusCut slashers available in a wide range of mounting configurations with working widths from 1.5m to 6.5m (5 to 21-ft).

The whole range is commercially paddock-proven and backed by a national dealer network that is fully supported by AusCut’s internal team of engineering experts with technical support staff and a fully qualified spare parts back-up.

tarting from easy to manoeuvre 1.5m Bravo slashers the AusCut range goes through to 3.6m trailing and 3PL slashers to extra heavy-duty  4.6 to 6.5m AlphaCut batwing slashers
