Fendt sprayer owners will get the benefit of a joint venture between AGCO and Bosch BASF for targeted spraying in green-on-brown

AGCO Corporation has joined forces with Bosch BASF Smart Farming to integrate Smart Spraying technology into Fendt sprayers and to jointly develop additional functions.
As far back as May 2021, AGCO and Bosch BASF Smart Farming started the first trials of Bosch BASF Smart Farming’s innovative Smart Spraying Solution.
We are at a stage today where the development is expected to deliver optimal herbicide savings without compromising weed control, with the further ability to activate targeted spraying during the day or night-time conditions.
In addition to targeted spraying, the system will deliver integrated digital tools to turn the application data into actionable insights that can improve yields and efficiency for growers.

Herbicide savings are delivered through sophisticated sensors with fully automated thresholds, with access to Bosch BASF Smart Farming’s pest identification technology.
With the system designed especially for the Fendt robust application platform, it is expected AGCO will offer the system in the Americas and Europe starting in 2024, with Australia not far behind.
Operators will also be able to benefit from customised agronomic recommendations and reliable file outputs within the same solution.
The system will offer an end-to-end user experience through AGCO on-board and off-board controls and Bosch BASF Smart Farming’s integrated digital platform from xarvio® Digital Farming Solutions, with access to the data gathered during the application.
Supported crops currently include corn, soy, cotton, canola, sunflower, and sugarbeet, with capabilities for more crops such as small grain crops being added after the initial launch.

“The progress we have made with Bosch BASF Smart Farming in developing a sustainable solution that maintains productivity while improving profitability and delivering clean fields with maximum savings is an excellent example of AGCO’s farmer focus,” said Seth Crawford, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Precision Ag & Digital, AGCO.
“We look forward to our further collaboration with Bosch BASF Smart Farming as we work together to bring this solution to farmers and custom applicators around the world.
“What makes our system unique is the combination of superior precision, digital tools and agronomic expertise. With a 24/7 application capability, we create an exceptional green-on-green and green-on-brown performance.
“This type of precision agronomics offering is a breakthrough to support farmers with less impact and higher yields,” added Matt Leininger, Managing Director of North America, Bosch BASF Smart Farming.

Fendt Rogator 900 Series SP sprayers
The first models to be equipped with the Bosch BASF Smart Farming system will likely be the Fendt Rogator 900 Series, five models of self-propelled machines including the 932, 934, 934H (High Clearance), 937 and Fendt 937H.
The engine power in the range will run from 290 to 369hp (216 to 272kW) from a 6-cylinder 8.4-litre AGCO Power engine that meets the Tier 4 final emissions standards for northern hemisphere markets. While in third-world farm machinery rated countries such as South America, Eastern Europe and Australia, there is provision to supply toxic fume Tier 3 emissions standard.
With varying machine body widths of 3.91 to 4.49m (12.8 to 14.7ft) to suit all world markets such as North and South America, Australia, as well as Eastern Europe. Operators will be able to choose spraying widths from 27 to 40m (90 to 132 ft).
Fendt Rogator 900 Series will be fitted with a spacious VisioPlus cab familiar to operators of Fendt 700 Vario tractors to provide an unobstructed view of the crop. And a multifunction joystick and the armrest including Varioterminal 10.4 as fitted to the Fendt IDEAL combine.
While the chassis of the Fendt 900 Series can be raised at the touch of a button. As standard, there is a ground clearance of 142cm (56-inches) or more depending on the tyres selected.
A special High Clearance variant is also available on both the Fendt 934 and 937 models. This allows the chassis to be raised up to 193cm (76-inches) depending on the tyres selected.
