AGCO plans to accelerate PTx dealerships through tech advantages

Farmer-First strategy from AGCO is set to empower dealers to supply farmers with advanced precision agriculture solutions for every season

AGCO is gearing up its dealers to offer technology upgrades that can effectively retrofit almost any make or model and keep fleets running for longer

Expect to see AGCO dealerships armed with some of the most advanced precision ag technology available to farmers.

With a program to be rolled out worldwide, the company is already making significant progress on the growth of its PTx™ dealership network in North America.

The PTx package that will be available for farmers is a combination of assets held in two divisions of AGCO. Precision Planting®, a leading developer of planting, spraying and harvest retrofit technologies, and PTx Trimble™ that focuses on guidance and steering, water management and autonomy precision ag solutions.

The Precision Planting division of AGCO is busy equipping its models with technology that will lead to higher yields with fewer inputs

In only one year since the PTx Trimble™ brand was launched, the company has leveraged a channel-based strategy to integrate PTx solutions into over 50 additional Fendt® and Massey Ferguson® dealers across the United States and Canada.

AGCO’s goal is to equip all of its production agriculture dealerships in North America with the PTx Trimble guidance and steering portfolio by the end of 2025.

A key driver of AGCO’s PTx expansion has been the implementation of its Technology Dealer Strategy, an arm that develops channels within its distribution network to offer complementary product lines from the growing PTx Trimble and Precision Planting solution portfolios.

As AGCO opens up further worldwide markets, Base Technology dealers will have the opportunity to retrofit multiple brands of equipment with PTx guidance and steering technology.

While its Full Line Precision Ag dealers will provide solutions for every season through PTx retrofit technologies from PTx Trimble and Precision Planting for all machinery brands, including advanced solutions for water management and controls for planters, seeders, sprayers and other implements.

This approach has come about to strengthen AGCO’s overall precision ag dealer network, it also ensures farmers have access to the most current precision ag tools and expertise throughout the entire crop cycle, regardless of their operation’s scale or complexity.

Working with its PTx brand AGCO has developed OutRun the first commercially available autonomous retrofit grain cart solution on the market

“Our commitment to precision agriculture has never been stronger,” said Eric Hansotia, AGCO Chairman, President and CEO. “Through the rapid expansion of PTx supported by our dedicated Technology Dealer Strategy, we are equipping our dealers with the tools and expertise to help farmers maximise yields and profitability. The momentum we’re building today will shape the future of farming for years to come.”
