Feedlot pens and dairies have made good use of box graders for some time and now with the BulkaBlade release ideal for pre-paddock planting jobs as well
A wet summer was a surprise for farmers in many districts, considering an El Nino dry weather pattern had already been called, and it brought with it several pre-tillage issues that the Auscut team has been more than able to address.
High on the list for farmers are summer weeds and heavy residue that need to be sized and mulched before many can get on with planting. Additionally, summer grasses that had run to a head and needed to be topped to provide enhanced feed value.
To tackle these challenges, your first port of call is local manufacturer Auscut who is already delivering its very popular range of slashers, toppers, and residue mulchers to farmers.
All these models are built locally and designed to handle the demanding work that Aussie farmers throw at them.
As part of this wet summer, demand has been a call for box graders, and as a result, Auscut has introduced BulkaBlade models as a new release product line.
Farmers and earthmovers have been quick to put these BulkaBlade models to use in a wide range of applications. This includes grading damaged and rutted roads and lanes, spreading and levelling gravel pads around farmyards and sheds and cleaning up and levelling out ruts and bog marks.
A BulkaBlade is also perfect for draining and levelling waterlogged areas and for filling in melon holes as well as general cleaning around feedlot pens and dairies.
BulkaBlade models come in several working widths ranging from 2.5 to 4.5m in width. With long-reach walking axles on the rear to ensure even spreading of all soil types and heavier gravel.
The well-designed hydraulic levelling system comes complete with easy-to-see depth indicators, and this enables the blades to be laterally tilted on the run. And it’s also ideal for determining the right camber for roadways and when working on drainage banks.
All BulkaBlade models come with a swivel tow hitch for easy attachment and include heavy-duty grader blades and side skids in the build.
In the case of pre-ripping to loosen up soil before levelling, a ripper kit can be retrofitted to the front of the Bulkablade at the factory.
Heavy-duty BulkaBlade build
AusCut’s heavy-duty, Aussie-made box graders are equipped with walking beam axles to provide ultimate ground following ability and are coupled to a swivel tow hitch to ensure the blade stays level in uneven terrain.
There are four working widths to choose from starting with the 2.4-metre model, with mid-range 3 and 3.6-metre models and a wide cutting 4.5-metre option. All have a travel clearance of 560mm. They ideally require minimum tractor pto power of 66kW (90hp), 74kW (100hp), 81kW (110hp) and 103kW (140hp) respectively.
With the blade tilt and height hydraulically controlled these models suit a wide variety of on-farm paddock applications as well as for general tasks such as levelling, grading and contouring.
The heavy-duty build includes sections being fully welded and powder-coated, and the 16mm blade thickness is supported by 12mm adjustable bisalloy side skids.
To make sure the BulkaBlade build suits every unique operation there is an option to include a hydraulic ripper attachment that is ideal for breaking up compacted soil.
