AusCut residue management models are in strong demand

Residue management in this heavy trash season is well covered by the expansive range of AusCut models built for medium to large farm operations

AusCut’s RollMax Smooth Drum Roller is ideal for rolling pulse, lentil and chickpea to reduce wear and tear on harvester fronts and to minimise contamination of seed samples

AusCut is a family-owned company based in Cowra NSW with a multi-generational history in farming and manufacturing quality agricultural machinery for Australian conditions.

Because company owners have spent decades both manufacturing equipment and using it on their own farms, they understand first-hand what growers need.

That’s why the company stands by the belief that “A sale is not a sale until we have a customer for life.”

In recent years, AusCut has focused on developing a suite of models to meet the ever-changing requirements of post-harvest residue management.

Company engineers know that managing crop residues is never a one-size-fits-all sort of job.

Every farm has different cropping systems, seeding gear, weed-management strategies, soil types and farming techniques, not to mention the wide variety of crops grown.

To support growers tackling the challenges of crop residue management from season 2025-26 harvest, AusCut is offering four key model systems.

For cereals, oilseeds, sorghum and dryland cotton operations the TurboTopper range is designed for efficiency and scale, with models available with up to 18.3m widths

Slashing and mulching – TurboTopper and AlphaCut

For broadacre operations, the TurboTopper range is designed for efficiency and scale, with models available in 3m, 9.3m, 12.3m and 18.3m widths.

These units have become particularly popular for cereals, oilseeds, sorghum and dryland cotton.

High tip-speeds, mulching blades and adjustable rear flaps ensure a clean, even spread of residue.

This soil cover helps limit wind blow and aids in moisture retention, while the small residue sizing allows for smooth seeding through both disc and tine drills.

For medium-sized farming operations, the AlphaCut series with working widths from 4.6 to 6.5 m offers a true all-rounder.

Built extremely heavy-duty, it handles residue management, pasture topping and vegetation control in areas with woody weeds. Standout functions include high deck clearance, multiple mulching blade options and robust construction.

RollMax is AusCut’s solution for soil preparation and stubble residue management with four residue cruncher and smooth drum models with widths of 4.7m, 6m, 12.3m and 18.3m

RollMax stubble crunchers and rollers

Recent seasons have seen an increase in production of hybrid canola varieties, along with winter legumes such as beans, lupins and green-manuring pea crops.

The RollMax Cruncher has become a go-to tool for dealing with residues in these situations, as they are typically lying flat on the soil surface or snapped off at ground level from being disturbed at harvest and in the mulching application.

It rolls the residue down, knifing it into roughly 180mm pieces while providing gentle soil cultivation to encourage microbial activity and stimulate weed seed germination.

Available in 4.7m, 6m, 12.3m and 18.3m models, RollMax units are heavily engineered with rubber suspension systems that reduce frame fatigue and extend bearing and blade life.

This system has proved to be extremely cost-effective to operate, with blade wear typically between $1.50 and $2.00 per hectare, depending on soil type.

The AeraMax is a versatile unit offering a range of configuration options, including adjustable coulters with a knifing roller or available as an adjustable aerator configuration

AeraMax vertical tillage system

The AeraMax is a versatile unit offering a range of configuration options, including adjustable coulters with a knifing roller, or an adjustable aerator configuration.

When run with coulters, it excels at sizing residue and providing shallow soil disturbance.

The AeraMax is ideal for minimum-tillage farmers looking to incorporate light strategic tillage without undoing years of soil-health gains.

The aerator option reduces compaction, introduces oxygen into the soil and supports moisture retention.

For full tillage with stubble incorporated the TruTill system is an extremely heavy-duty option with discs and optional rollers available in working widths from 3 to 12.5m

TruTill heavy-duty tillage system

For farmers requiring a full tillage process along with stubble incorporation, the TruTill system is an extremely heavy-duty option.

Fitted with 660 to 710mm (26 or 28-inch) discs and a choice of roller configurations, the TruTill is available in working widths from 3 to 12.5m.

It is ideal for maximum stubble incorporation, weed control, lime and gypsum incorporation and primary tillage applications.

All AusCut equipment is designed, engineered and manufactured in Cowra NSW by a team with generations of farming and manufacturing experience.
