Auscut RollMax offers a unique way to level out paddocks and manage stubble residue

RollMax is a ground roller designed to give you a smooth paddock finish or choose the optional stubble cruncher to create the perfect residue manager

The RollMax is AusCut’s solution to soil preparation and stubble residue management with four models available in residue cruncher and smooth drum roller variants with working widths of 4.7, 6, 12.3 and 18.3m available

We introduced AusCut Global’s product range to local farmers not long after the company was formed in 2021.

At the time AusCut had just released its very first product lines, the Commander and Bravo heavy-duty slashers, and as the main medium for locally made badges, AFDJ alerted farmers quickly to the strong build and value these models were offering.

AusCut models simply took off, and we had the advantage of another strong home-grown entry in our local farm equipment manufacturing ranks.

Much of the initial success was due to the owners’ accumulated 30 years of experience in agricultural manufacturing through their previous successful tillage manufacturing company and 50-plus years of experience as farmers.

The AusCut RollMax can operate for two functions – it can be set up as a residue cruncher or as a smooth ground roller to handle post-harvest stubble

And now, with the benefit of talking to growers about what they needed most, hot off the production line at AusCut is the RollMax Land Roller.

The release of RollMax answered the call for AusCut engineers to design a model that could be used to help protect harvesting gear, increase seed soil contact and efficiently manage residue.

While the RollMax Residue Cruncher is AusCut’s solution to green manuring and stubble residue management, the RollMax Smooth Drum Roller helps with seedbed preparation and harvester protection.

By using the one main frame, with the option to purchase extra rollers, the RollMax can take on two separate roles. Work as a smooth drum roller or residue cruncher.

AusCut engineers knew from discussions with farmers that it was necessary to supply a product that was both a high-quality build and could also handle any heavy-duty tasks.

AusCut also provides solid after-sales support to ensure their customers gain the most use from the RollMax design.

There are four working widths available in the smooth drum roller: 4.7m, 6m, 12.3m and 18.3m. The 4.7m and 6m sizes fold down to 2.5m for transport, while the 12.3m and 18.3m sizes fold down to 3.5m.

Tractor power of 81kW (110hp) is required for the two smaller models, and 147 and 221kW (200 and 300hp) respectively for the two larger models are recommended.

The heavy-duty 16mm plate roller makes the RollMax Smooth Drum Roller perfect for rolling stones and clods in preparation for harvesting while increasing seed soil contact for better germination of crops.

It is one sure way to protect your harvester and hay gear by providing a smooth, level finish to the paddock.

Laying stubble down with a smooth drum roller speeds up breakdown and conserves moisture. It also offers greater snail and slug control. It attains a level and finished seedbed that growers want for many crop types.

It has proven ideal for rolling pulse, lentil, and chickpea paddocks to reduce wear and tear on harvester fronts and minimise contamination of seed samples.

AusCut’s RollMax residue cruncher has been designed to ensure the most reliable and practical soil preparation and stubble residue management by providing a level and firm seedbed

RollMax residue cruncher

The RollMax Residue Cruncher is AusCut’s post-harvest solution for stubble residue management to increase moisture retention and residue breakdown.

Applying the RollMax residue cruncher to manage crop residue works to leave it as a fine mulch over the soil surface ensures weed growth is reduced and increases moisture retention and residue breakdown.

There are four working widths available in the smooth drum roller: 4.7m, 6m, 12.3m and 18.3m. The 4.7m and 6m sizes fold down to 2.5m for transport, while the 12.3m and 18.3m sizes fold down to 3.5m.

Tractor power of 81kW (110hp) is required for the two smaller models, and 147 and 221kW (200 and 300hp) respectively for the two larger models is recommended.

Key advantages of the residue cruncher for residue management have been post-harvest chopping of canola, chickpea, sorghum and corn stalks, that leaves residue in a mulch to reduce planter plugging.

In turn, using the residue cruncher disrupts weed seed germination to a level where it reduces time and chemical costs at Autumn spraying.

For growers running the RollMax residue cruncher for Spring applications, it is perfect for chopping green manure and cover crops, to enhance nitrogen fixation.

RollMax is built strong

Throughout the design of the RollMax, you will find heavy-duty pins and bushes, and extra heavy-duty 75mm bearings with a 77kn static load capacity, and replaceable shafts.

With the advantage of upgrading to 80mm double-spherical roller bearings with 420kn static load capacity. This is highly recommended on the residue cruncher.

Everything is set up solidly on heavy-duty tyres and dual wheels, while the tractor operated fold makes for an efficient change from transport to working position. The RollMax offers a narrow transport width of just 3.5m for the 12.3m and 18.3m options and 2.5m for the 4.7m and 6m options with a rear safety bar that locks the wings in during transport
