Croplands partners with MagrowTec to provide magnetically assisted spray technology

Growers in Australia and New Zealand now have ready access to MagrowTec spray technology for better canopy penetration and drift reduction

MagrowTec is a leading innovator in spray application following the testing and release of a cutting-edge solution that creates optimal size droplets for better penetration and with reduced spray drift for all crop types

Leading spray equipment manufacturer Croplands has joined forces with MagrowTec to offer their magnetically assisted spray technology to all Australian and New Zealand growers.

MagrowTec may appear to have just burst onto the spraying scene but in fact, began developing its system in Ireland over a decade ago. And has been working with leading growers in both Australia and New Zealand assessing rigorous in-paddock crop science studies prior to the product release since 2021.

AFDJ first revealed local testing from MagGrow in 2021, who went on to change their name and logo to the more progressive MagrowTec in 2022. See more about the initial local launch on this link.

The results of adopting this new technology have been consistently demonstrated through significant agronomic benefits such as greatly improved crop coverage and as a result much better canopy penetration. Along with improved water management and importantly, reduced spray drift.

MagrowTec has taken spray applications back to the basics by ensuring more optimal-sized droplets are formed by their system through static magnetic fields. Ideal for forming smaller droplets without the risk of excessive drift.

A major benefit is that the MagrowTec magnetically assisted spray technology can be mounted to a new model or retrofitted to any existing boom sprayer, and easily transferred to a different sprayer as required.

There are no electronics to worry about, and the system is virtually maintenance-free.

James Turtle, MagrowTec BDM for Southern Australia outlines what growers have achieved, “Current users of the product are not only seeing the benefits of improved crop protection but are also realising that their spraying program is becoming more efficient by either reducing the number of sprays required or by not having to increase their water rate to do a better job.”

“The proven performance of this technology will help operators optimise chemical applications and deliver an excellent return on investment. Every time you spray, you’ll be landing more droplets and therefore chemical on the target, which results in improved crop health and yield, putting more dollars back into your pocket whilst also benefitting the environment,” James Turtle adds.

General Manager of Croplands Sean Mulvaney explains the benefits MagrowTec brings, “We are proudly partnering with MagrowTec to bring their magnetic spray technology solution to both Australian and New Zealand growers, and equally exciting is that the solution can be retrofitted to existing boom sprayers or onto new builds,” Sean Mulvaney adds.

The addition of MagrowTec’s patented technology to Croplands’ extensive range of specialised spraying solutions will provide growers with a leading-edge opportunity to significantly, yet simply, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their existing boom spray applications within their current farming systems.

Installation of the system is carried out by Croplands technicians on-farm and is a quick and easy process

MagrowTec, in partnership with Croplands, is now actively engaging with growers and agronomists across Australia and New Zealand to explain further how this magnetically assisted spray technology can increase the productivity and effectiveness of their current spraying program.

Growers and operators can get all the information they need to assess the benefits of adding MagrowTec by attending one of the live system demonstrations now taking place across all states.

With the benefits of better canopy penetration and reduced spray drift, all growers and operators are encouraged to take a look at the benefits derived from this magnetically assisted spray technology.
