Crusader Hose is now the leading local maker of layflat hose with Flexidrag

Flexidrag makes the job of selecting a flexible layflat hose much easier as it’s the Australian made market leader that every irrigator wants

Locally made Flexidrag layflat hose is the irrigation leader offering a tight bend radius ideal for lateral or travelling irrigators running at high or low pressures in continuous lengths up to 400 metres

Reliability and ease of handling are the two key qualities farmers require most for water management.

Whether it’s hose for irrigating crops or for bore water pumping, Crusader Hose manufactures a world-standard flexible layflat hose, that is proven to withstand the rigours of irrigation.

Experts in manufacturing flexible layflat hose, Crusader Hose knows that reliability and ease of handling are of paramount importance.

Supplying farmers with layflat hose for travelling irrigators and bore water pumping for over 30 years, their market leading improvements and upgrades have been the company’s hallmark.

Flexidrag®, the world-standard travelling irrigator hose and Flexibore®, the flexible riser, are locally made products designed specifically for the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Flexidrag has the advantage of being a locally made drag hose with a tight bend radius that farmers trust most

Flexidrag leads the market

With Spring fast approaching, farmers looking to purchase a travelling irrigator or upgrading their irrigator hose will make the right choice with Flexidrag®, the premier drag hose from Crusader Hose.

The demands of a world-standard travelling irrigation hose revolve around three critical matters: the durability of the exterior, the weight of the drag and its overall flexibility.

Flexidrag’s high-tensile textile reinforcement is encased in PU via the weave-through extrusion process giving its tough exterior and interior. Unlike rubber, the PU material is also non-craking and UV-stabilised to withstand extreme Australian conditions.

Flexidrag® is extruded with precise concentricity. This means the PU layer thickness is measured evenly throughout the length of the hose.

Concentricity to this degree and the additional annealing process makes Flexidrag® lightweight and flexible. PU is also lighter per metre than rubber, reducing energy requirements.

State-of-the-art technology gives Flexidrag® its tight bend radius, which helps reduce kinking. It also allows Flexidrag® to work well at low pressures on laterals as well as with high pressures on guns.

The flexibility and ease of handling make Flexidrag® the top performer in the paddock. It is compact, and longer lengths can be fitted onto the irrigator reel compared to rubber hose or other imported brands.

Francois Steverlynck, Managing Director at Crusader Hose points out, “The improvements to our drag irrigation hose bring Flexidrag® to world standard.

“We’re in the third irrigation season since its development, and Flexidrag® is proving itself a top seller in the market. I believe we have created the world’s best travelling irrigation hose,” Francois added.

Flexbore 100 is made for bore pumps operating with depths down to 100 metres with no safety cable required it is easy to handle and install

Flexibore hose for pumping

For bore water pumping, Flexibore is easy to handle and quick to install.

Manufactured locally by Crusader Hoses with the same weaving and extrusion technology as Flexidrag, Flexibore is a proven alternative to poly pipe.

Wound into flatpacks, Flexibore has a smaller footprint and is easier to transport to site. Its flexible nature lends itself to many advantages.

Not only easier to handle than rigid pipe, installations and retrievals are completed in a fraction of the time.

Flexibore has superior hydraulic performance, complete resistance to corrosion and microbiological damage, and is resistant to the build-up of internal scale, thereby saving on power costs.

Flexbore is manufactured in continuous lengths up to 400 metres and has a long operational life of over 20 years.

Francois Steverlynck added, “When looking at the life cycle of Flexibore compared with poly, Flexibore will ultimately save you time and money.

“Many pump installers have experienced the benefits of Flexibore and refuse to use poly pipe in support of their customers,” Francois concluded.
