Davimac chaser bins are geared up for a big harvest

A great deal of engineering has gone into making Davimac chaser bins one of the most preferred locally made first choices for growers

Davimac chaser bins have undergone regular upgrades in their 40-year history to stay current for an industry that has doubled production during that time period and now depends on the sturdy body build and high quality augers these bins are known for

Davimac is a leading Australian manufacturer of farm equipment, and over the last 40 years, its chaser bins have become the go-to solution for growers looking for an efficient and productive harvest.

With a focus on quality, durability and reliability, Davimac Chaser Bins are known for being able to handle even the toughest loads in the most challenging Australian conditions.

“Local farmers know the importance of having dependable, sturdy equipment to get the job done quickly and effectively,” says Josh Whalan at the Davimac Group.

“One of the unique selling points of our bins is their high-quality construction. We design and manufacture all our machinery right here in regional Australia, so they are built to withstand the tough and demanding conditions of local farming.”

With a design philosophy to over-engineer equipment for maximum reliability and durability, for the last four decades, Davimac has been the preferred choice of farmers seeking quality harvest machinery.

“Our chaser bins are designed to last for years,” says Josh, “This gives farmers and contractors the peace of mind that their investment will pay off in the long run.

“For example, the undercarriage on our dual-axle models is rated to over double the bin carrying capacity. This allows for heavy loads to be transported safely and efficiently without compromising the structural integrity of the bin.”

In addition to this, Davimac opted to design their bins with wheel arches to lower the overall height of the bin, simplifying road transport requirements and also bringing the added benefit of a sturdier ride in the paddock with its lower centre of gravity.

Davimac chaser bins known for their high quality build and long service life are designed with curved sides to make them more resistant to buckling than conventional straight sides with the dual axle 35 tonnes model shown able to handle bumper crops efficiently

To reduce wear and tear on the chassis and increase the service life of both the grain cart and tractor, Davimac pioneered a cushion-hitch design that minimises shunting and jarring when travelling over uneven terrain.

The company also opted to build the vertical flights for the large 508mm (20-inch) auger out of 10mm steel plate, instead of the industry-standard 6mm steel. This increases the strength and durability of the mechanism, preventing them from becoming unbalanced due to bowing and requiring costly refurbishment or repairs.

Davimac bins are easily recognised for their distinctive curved sides, and that makes them more resistant to buckling than conventional straight sides.

The curved side plates are made from 3mm steel plate, while the front, back, and underside of the superstructure are made from heavier 6.4mm steel plate. This heavy-duty construction offers superior strength and durability where it is needed most.

The range includes single and tandem axle models with carrying capacities from 25 to 35 tonnes.

All chaser bins in Davimac’s lineup are fitted with 508mm (20-inch) augers with up to a 12 tonnes per minute unloading speed.

And further inclusions include a PTO drive, independent cleanout doors to easily ensure no cross-contamination, ultra-bright auger lights, and a hydraulic spout.

There are also adjustable CTF wheel centres, a heavy-duty 900GSM roll tarp, a road kit for transport along public roads, perspex windows, and a safety chain and toolbox.

While further options can also be added, including a right-hand discharge, Bluetooth-compatible scales for wireless in-cab load monitoring, long-reach auger extensions and an auger feed-out chute.

For operators that want more specific inclusions, they can also option a hydraulic drive, a variety of rear tow hitches, a fire extinguisher or 400-litre water tank, a pump and hose firefighting kit, and custom paint finishes to match the colour of the tractor.

Davimac chaser bins are designed with functions that promote productivity, making it easier for growers to complete their grain carting quicker and focus on other important aspects of their harvesting operation.

Davimac’s chaser bins are designed with local knowledge of what growers expect to achieve in a sometimes brief harvest window and that plays a critical role in helping to maximise yields and profitability.
