Elmore Field days cancelled for 2021

No further event is contemplated until 2022 when the event is expected to resume its October time slot

Elmore Field Days committee cancels the 2021 event citing the heavy restrictions and conditions currently required to run events during the COVID-19 pandemic

The Elmore & District Machinery Field Days Committee have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Elmore Field Days, which was due to take place in early October 2021.

Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions and conditions currently required to run events the committee feel this decision is in the best interest of public health and safety for all exhibitors, volunteers and attendees.

The Elmore Field Days attracts exhibitors and public from all over Australia and overseas. Due to the current interstate and international border restrictions, it would not be guaranteed that the usual exhibitors would be able to attend.

The Committee left the decision to cancel the event as late as possible with the hope that the COVID-19 situation might have eased, but due to the government restrictions, uncertainty around running events and the current outbreaks the decision was clear for the committee.

Scott Nichol, President said “whilst the Elmore Field Days Committee is disappointed to have to make this decision, our committees main concern and deciding factor is the public safety of our community, volunteers, exhibitors and attendees.”

The Elmore Field Days has been running annually since 1964. And 2021 year was meant to be the 58th Elmore Field Days.

The Elmore Field Days has only ever cancelled one day of the field days, and that was in 1975 due to flooding. But since the rise of COVID-19 the event has now been cancelled two years in a row. The 57th field days in 2020, and now the 58th field days in 2021.

“We hope that everyone continues to stay safe and well.  We plan to be back bigger and better on the 4 to 6 October 2022.” Scott Nichol said.

Scott Nichol added, “The Elmore Field Days would like to thank everyone involved in the field days for being so supportive and understanding during this unprecedented time.
