FNQ Field Days wants your best photo

THE Rotary FNQ Field Days wants the best agricultural photograph in Australia to feature on the cover of its official exhibitor guide for the 2019 event running from Wednesday to Friday the 29 and 31 May

THE Rotary FNQ Field Days is on the hunt for a hero agricultural photograph to feature on the cover of its official exhibitor guide for 2019.

Local photographers – amateur or professional – are encouraged to get behind the lens and submit their favourite rural or agricultural image for the cover of the guide, which will be jam-packed with key information, maps, articles and profiles.

The photo competition and advertising close on 1 April. The competition’s terms and conditions are available on the field days facebook site.

The Rotary FNQ Field Days committee chair Ida Portella said the photo should capture the true meaning and feeling of the largest field days in northern Australia.

“Whether it’s the people, the environment, the landscapes, the weather, the industries or daily life, there are boundless opportunities for inspiration,” Ms Portella said.

The competition comes as sites for the three-day agricultural extravaganza – held on 29, 30 and 31 May at Kerribee Park, Mareeba Qld – are all but sold out.

Ms Portella said she was thrilled with the level of support for the event, with regulars and new exhibitors jumping on board to be part of it. She said there were many reasons why exhibitors returned to northern Australia’s biggest field days event and a key part of the quality customer.

“This year, we have expanded into to two new areas, under part of the grandstand and to the right of the entrance gates,” Ms Portella said. “Our exhibitors deliver quality – in products, services and support – and often timely specials and deals to suit the local farmer, grower or support business.

“We are designing an innovative and interactive attractions

program to complement the exhibition area and the traditional attractions, like the tractor pull which is popular with visitors.

A biennial event, Rotary FNQ Field Days will be held from Wednesday May 29 and Friday May 31, 2019 at Mareeba’s Rodeo Grounds.
