Goldacres G6 Series 2 takes local maker past world standard

Order now as the uptake of the Goldacres G6 Series 2 has been overwhelming with excellent feedback from dealer groups as to the positive growers reaction toward purchasing

The large and comfortable cab of the Series 2 offers extensive sound deadening, suspension, an air ride seat and all controls easily to hand for reduced fatigue on long days in the paddock with the 6000-litre main product tank backed up with a 550-litre side mounted rinse tank

When it comes to local manufacturing there is one company that overwhelmingly exemplifies the depth of value we hold both on-farm and in workshops in towns across the continent, that company is Goldacres.

It’s the success story that shows its first glimmer in a country school many decades ago when a young student begins to see the scope of options available to them.

It’s a story that has often been repeated in the realm of farm equipment development by many participants, but for a million reasons only seems to bless  a few with success.

The Goldacres story started with the determination of John Richards to produce a better sprayer back in 1978, and has grown to represent the most powerful local maker in our time.

If Goldacres simply moved forward with its model range from 2019 it would surely be just simply an ongoing success, but placing a limit on its offerings is not how Goldacres operates.

In 2020 the release of the Series 2 G6 Crop Cruiser spiralled Goldacres into a position of envy from growers running other badges.

The Series 2 G6 inherits all the excellence of its predecessors including a rigid chassis, suspension and mechanical driveline system

The Series 2 G6 Crop Cruiser is a major step forward in every aspect of what operators have been offered previously. Factor in operator comfort, model performance and ease of use.

There is probably every reason for this model design to appeal to sprayer owners and operators. The build was based on their very feedback.

Goldacres made sure every operator wish was catered for and then added their own in-house designer upgrades and combined all of this with the known engineering advances the very latest sprayer should carry Goldacres.

The self-propelled G6 Series 2 is a high-capacity and high-clearance machine that meets the needs of all large-scale dryland farming enterprises.

The 6000-litre main product tank is backed up with a 550-litre side mounted rinse tank.

Designed, engineered and built in Ballarat Vic this is a model that offers exceptional power to weight ratio, an industry-leading boom ride, unmatched fuel efficiency and carries the most current spraying technology.

Central to the design and performance of the G6 Series 2 is the G-Hub, that positions all controls and information at the operator’s fingertips in an ergonomic and robust package.

Inside the cab G6 Series 2 operators have all the information they need along with full control at their fingertips with the combination of the G-Hub display and the G-Motion handle

Goldacres built many smart functions into the software and gave the operator ease of operation with the G-Motion handle that puts the sprayer control into the palm of your hand.

Functions such as boom tilt, lift and lower, auto-steer, cruise control and spray on and off can be controlled without moving your hand from the G-Motion handle.

In addition, there are further significant improvements that contribute to the spraying

performance of the G6 Series 2.

These include the Tritech RivX boom, that offers even greater stability and rigidity than the original TriTech boom that ran withn a three-way suspension on the first generation G6.

Standard boom widths on the Series 2 range from 36 to 42m with the option to take that out to 48m. Boom lines and nozzle bodies are mounted below the main structure of the boom, which provides for any spacing or configuration to be achieved and puts all nozzles in perfect alignment

This improvement is largely due to a boom construction that has steel inner wings and outer wings composed of both steel and aluminium and joined with high-strength structural rivets.

Tests suggest the RivX outer wings can withstand 300% more flexes than an equivalent welded boom.

TriTech RivX booms are available in widths from 36 to 42m with an option of up to 48 metres.

Hydraulically operated outer boom wing folding will replace cable drum fold mechanisms on the 36 and 42m booms. Including a breakaway function that will protect the boom in the event of a collision with an object.

All boom plumbing is now increased to 25mm (1-in) and this allows for increased spray application rates, reduced pressure drop along the length of the boom and industry

leading recirculation.

Outer wings constructed of both steel and aluminium joined with high-strength structural rivets eliminates the need for aluminium welding, vastly improving the fatigue strength of the wings. Tests suggest the RivX outer wings can withstand 300% more flexes than the equivalent welded boom

Boom lines and nozzle bodies are mounted below the main structure of the boom and sit inside a replaceable protection bar and this allows any spacing or configuration to be set

and all nozzles are in perfect alignment.

Another way the G6 Series 2 build can improve spray application is from the optional ISOBUS-compatible AutoBoom XRT height control. This system has combined  radar sensing technology with simultaneous ground and crop detection.

AutoBoom XRT is not affected by temperature, spray drift, dirt, dust or mud and offers five non-contact sensors for unmatched accuracy.

The G-Hub has at its heart a full colour 125mm (5-in) screen and 10-button panel to control all fill and clean functions with the push of a button.

In addition, the G-Hub system also manages all the liquid control valves that in turn operate all chemical induction, agitation and cleaning functions.

All the induction systems, including the hopper, have increased capacities and all fill and flush functions are now controlled with electric valves with the push of a button via the G-Hub display.

Designed, engineered and built in Ballarat, the G6 S2 is a model that offers exceptional power to weight ratio, an industry-leading boom ride, unmatched fuel efficiency and carries the most current spraying technology

A 76mm (3-in) transfer pump is fitted as standard. This pump combined with high flow plumbing provides flow rates of up to 1150-lit/min.

The hydraulic system on the series 2 G6 has also been completely revised with the implementation of a closed centre variable stroke hydraulic pump with load sensing that delivers more than 100% greater peak flow capacity than the previous model.

While the Series 2 fuel tank has also been increased in size by 50% to 450-litres to deliver a greater spraying range.

The Series 2 G6 inherits all the proven features of the first G6 including the rigid chassis, suspension and mechanical driveline system. It offers excellent sprayer and boom ride and a balance between strength and weight.
