Performer cultivators have been designed by KUHN engineers to reduce the number of times a paddock needs to be worked, and in the process reduce growers’ working hours and save money on input costs.

This is how that is achieved. The Performer is designed as a combination disc and tine cultivator, that enables operators to do surface clean-ups and depth work in just ‘one pass’.

Applying its unique design, the Performer incorporates four actions in a single pass: cutting, mixing or loosening, levelling, and consolidation.

This unique combination of processes equips the Performer to take on just about every paddock condition encountered and be able to manage varying amounts of crop residues during the process.

The Performer is a very versatile cultivator to have in a grower’s arsenal as its various combinations of discs and tines can also be worked independently as well as in combination.

For specific purpose operations, there is the choice of splitting each component and making it into its own versatile disc or tine cultivator or roller.

In a combined format, the Performer offers this combination. Two rows of discs, four rows of tines and a roller.

The front discs work to cut the remaining organic matter following harvest, then closely followed by the tines that will mix the organic matter with the soil, and the roller will level the surface ready for planting.

There are five different models of the Performer to choose from, the 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000. They represent a working width of 2.95, 3.85, 5, 5.95 and 7m respectively.

The number of disc combinations also varies with each model and comes standard at 22, 30, 38, 46 and 54. While the number of levelling discs also varies at 8, 10, 12, 14 and 18 respectively.

With the number of shanks varies across each model with 10, 14, 18, 22 and 26 respectively.

Each model is armed with a slightly curved disc of 510mm and a tine depth of 350mm. And operators can expect a standard working speed of 8 to 10kph.

Each paddock is different and the KUHN Performer takes this into account and works according to the soil texture and structure as well as the previous crop. This ultra-versatile cultivator is perfectly suited to adapt to all soil preparation requirements to provide you with the best possible results

To achieve the best results for deep mixing and soil loosening, the tines are positioned 280mm apart, across four rows. This, along with the 80mm underframe allows any organic residue to pass through and underneath the Performer.

To increase operator efficiency, the levelling discs can be readily adjusted from the tractor cab.

The levelling discs are mounted on a curved arm that is equipped with an elastomeric safety system for protection across rocky terrain.

The HD-Liner 700mm roller has been designed to operate in a variety of conditions including through organic matter and sticky soils. The roller’s weight is 225kg/m, with the overall weight varying depending on the model of the Performer.

From paddock performance to a quick fold-up to 3m and it’s onto the next job

The design of the HD-Liner roller includes leaving a non-pressed area between roller discs that will enable increased water infiltration and reduce any unnecessary run-off.

To optimise efficiency for an operator, all adjustments on all Performer models are made hydraulically.

KUHN has also taken into consideration the need to transport Performer models without restrictions, and as a result, each model is designed to fold up into a 3m width suitable for travelling on highways if necessary.
