Family-owned company Power Equipment this year celebrated 30 successful years of delivering diesel power solutions to Australian customers, and 10 years of operation in New Zealand
Power Equipment started from humble beginnings as an undercapitalised three-man operation in 1990 with the rights to distribute Yanmar marine and industrial engines in Australia.
The company has gone from strength to strength on the back of the Yanmar brand and its own efforts to establish a comprehensive dealer network and an enviable name for equipment supply and technical product support.
Full of ambition from the start, the company expanded into multiple market segments in subsequent years.
Picking up many new brand distributorships along the way, including the coveted John Deere, culminating into a market leading engine powerhouse.
Still looking forward, Power Equipment has most recently expanded into the supply of alternative power systems, including electrical and hybrid systems.
The company now has its head office in a modern fully owned purpose-built facility in Melbourne, and has branches in New South wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
Its New Zealand operation also recently moved into a new purpose-built facility in Auckland.
The founding Foster family – with son Luke now the CEO – remain at the helm of Power Equipment and have their sights set firmly on another 30 years and beyond.

Yanmar industrial generators

Silent, compact and with minimal fluctuations, the Yanmar range of direct injection diesel generators are amongst the smallest and most economical generators available.
Feature-packed to provide versatile power delivery – including an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) that ensures low fluctuation in power delivery – these generators offer dusk-to-dawn operation from a single tank of diesel.
For easy transport the extra lightweight YDG models can be carried by the frame, while larger YH units have an integrated lifting structure and forklift pockets.
YH models are available in single- and three-phase configuration with an extra-large fuel tank capacity of 85 litres.

Yanmar irrigation packs
Power Equipment irrigation packs have been developed to provide a robust base ready to power a pump capable of meeting your water distribution requirements.
Powered by proven reliability of Yanmar TNV engines, irrigation pack configurations range from 9.5kW (13hp) to 62kW (84hp).
Pre-configured, these packs are straightforward to set up and come complete with a
Heavy-duty 45C rated radiator, air cleaner, vibration isolating mounts, pump mounting plate, muffler, variable speed controller, skid base and battery leads. Oil and coolant are also included.
All that’s required is the addition of your favourite reliable pump which can be paired with four separate flywheel configurations.
With the addition of fuel and battery, your irrigation system can be up and running ready
to provide years of reliable performance and ease of maintenance.
John Deere PowerTech industrial diesel engines

topping PowerTech 13.5L engines with power of 287-363kW (388-491hp).
