Serafin Machinery believes it has designed the ultimate new disc seed bar model based on feedback from its long-term customers.
That model is the S24, the biggest Ultisow Forward Fold ever built and it simply has everything operators have been asking for.
Serafin designers have been working on this ultimate single disc seed bar since early 2021 as record planting seasons started to squeeze the planting window even tighter for growers adding more ground to their farm operations.
There are three working width models in this latest release Ultisow Forward Fold range, growers can choose from 12, 18 or 24m (40, 60 and 80ft) models.
The Ultisow forward fold design incorporates two ranks to give this model the ability to sow at 250mm (10-inch) row spacings on two ranks, or at 375mm (15-inches) on one rank while all the time achieving a consistent and uninterrupted trash flow.
Keeping with the program, Serafin designers have made sure these models fold to 4.8m width and 4.2m height to get the tick of approval for transport that farmers have been asking for moving forward.
And apart from the narrow transport width of 4.8m the Forward fold can also lift up on its wheels using hydraulics much like Serafin’s other popular model the Serafin Hi-Lift.
And with the attributes of a Serafin Hi-lift model, the special lift and fold design brings the Forward fold row unit up to chest height, making it easy to make any adjustments while in the paddock, if required.
Serafin designers have also made sure these seed bars are built tough. The main frame has a full powder-coat finish, and the hydraulic lift and fold mechanism is made to last and give easy access and lift without having to crawl around under the frame.
And fitted as standard are six large heavy-duty flotation tyres, and operators will appreciate the electric over hydraulic control of the row-unit down pressure, all controlled from inside the cab.
Ultisow Forward Fold S24 80 & 96 Models
Farmers are rushing to gain the benefits of working with the Ultisow Forward Fold S24 to plant right across the 24m (80ft) width and get every bit of ground planted down in time for the growing season.
Those growers lucky enough to order early and already have last season under their belts have revealed some positive insights into the operational benefits of working with an Ultisow S24 FF.
The Ultisow Forward Fold S24 comes standard with either 80 or 96x SM2022 single disc openers set on 300mm (12 inches) and 250mm (10 inches) spacings for the 80 and 96 respectively and runs 500mm (20-inch) x 6mm thick discs, guided by Buco Gauge Wheels
Serafin engineers have opted for an easy maintenance Agri Hub with a non-grease bearing and no pre-load to save on maintenance and limit downtime.
There is a direct flow seed boot assisted by an extra-large mud scraper to keep everything unblocked and clean.
The double truss, fully powder-coated frame is designed with a large 305mm (12-inch) centre section.
Heavy-duty flotation tyres ensure lift and lowering run smoothly and assist further when the machine is folded forward.
The S24 standard configuration is set up to run with any tow behind Aircart, down pressure is added with an electric valve, all with an in-cab display and simple adjustment as required.
The overall weight of the S24 is around 30 tonnes, so it’s recommended a tractor with a minimum lugging power of 368kW (500hp) is best suited for the job. The standard drawbar complements a 70mm pin.
An additional advantage for operators to choose the Ultisow Forward Fold S24 80 or 96 row lies with the options that can be readily included.
The access to fit a full Airkit to suit any tow-behind Aircart is enhanced further with a custom bolt-on tow bar for any branded tow-behind Aircart. Plus, over-the-bar hydraulics connect the cart to the tractor.
Some operators are also choosing options available such as Needham Green press wheels, and Serafin Ultiforce. Stainless steel diffusers are also an in-demand option as well.
All are able to be fitted as full factory options, prior to delivery.
