Mr Ralphsmith joins Silvan from Landmark AWB where he held the appointment of General Manager Merchandise in their Melbourne head office for the last three years.
He has executive experience encompassing consumer goods, water products and the agricultural chemicals sector, having originally begun his business career with Shell Australia in the late 1980s.
“The Silvan and Selecta brand names are exceptionally well recognised in the Australian agricultural and related market sectors,” Mr Ralphsmith said.
“This recognition is a great platform from which to continue to build our excellent product range.
“My focus as CEO will be on achieving customer satisfaction drawing upon leading edge innovation, expertise and technical support for our customers,” he said.
Silvan Australia has offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth and in New Zealand.
AFL fans may also recognise Mr Ralphsmith as the veteran of four senior games with Hawthorn in its heyday from 1988 to 1990 and 30 games played with St Kilda during the 1991 to 1994 seasons.
