Simplicity Australia 30 Series Air Seeders offer section control

Simplicity Australia releases the 30 Series Air Seeders the largest they have ever built with section control as an option on models that include many extra features to to benefit growers now and into the future

Simplicity’s electronic section control is based on their renowned ground drive system and works by simply engaging and disengaging the drive to each metering spool, with the added benefit the system can also be manually engaged.

With the high cost of crop inputs, it’s no secret that section control offers broadacre growers the opportunity to save significant amounts of money.

By reducing overlap and minimising double application, the savings accumulate.

Following a successful demo roadshow program across southern and western Australia, Simplicity Australia is now offering section control as an option on their 30 Series Air Seeders.

Simplicity’s journey toward section control has been a long one, starting in 2008 with a wing shut off system developed for use within the rice industry.

It was a simple system with manual operation, however it laid the ground work for what would become Simplicity’s section control model.

Bin lids can be operated remotely from the ground while a bin fill indicator system alerts the operator when to shut off the filling auger. Access to the top of the bin has also been updated to include retractable stairs leading to a single sided walkway that leaves one side open for easy fill access

In addition, Simplicity’s section control is based upon their renowned ground drive system, a system with a reputation for accuracy and reliability.

By simply engaging and disengaging the drive to each metering spool, Simplicity has been able to retain the benefits of ground driven Air Seeders.

Many growers will appreciate the comfort of knowing that the system can be manually engaged, should an issue arise within the electronic control system.

The metering spools are set in pairs, with each spool having an individual control and monitoring system. These units have been designed to be easily removed for inspection or replacement if necessary.

Each spool operates separately however they can also be linked together to operate as a single section if required.

The second feature of Simplicity’s section control system is an air dampener to balance the pressure when a section disengages.

This ensures that sufficient air remains within the active sections to deliver grain or fertiliser to the boot.

The system is controlled through a Topcon X35 console that manages variable rate

control on granular and liquid products, section control and variable boom timing, and the XTEND feature, allowing remote access to the console through a smartphone or tablet.

Despite the new sectional metering unit design, many of the existing features were retained or improved from the original.

Another new feature is the adjustable spool cover plate that allows the operator to

easily select between fine, coarse or bean settings from the side of the metering unit, eliminating the requirement to climb into the bin to replace them.

The all stainless steel sectional metering units also feature a larger observation window designed to resist scratching and remain clearer for longer to provide the best view into the metering unit.

Simplicity is offering their section control option on any new 30 Series Air Seeder.

The 30 Series was recently developed in response to the need for larger capacity Air Seeders, and it was the new design that provided the platform to incorporate a range of innovative features.

Simplicity’s 30 Series models offer larger small seeds boxes that can hold up to 1500 litres to allow for handling bulk commodity bags.

The small seeds metering unit has also been updated to include an observation window and swing away bottom door.

Section control is also available as an option on the small seeds metering unit.

A hydraulic calibration drive is neatly integrated into the drive train and no longer requires manual disengagement and the drive-train is powered by a new high torque clutch.

Bin lids can now be operated remotely from ground level and a bin fill indicator system alerts the operator when to shut off the filling auger.

Lighting has been significantly upgraded with additional LED work lights making operating at night much safer.

Access to the top of the bin has been updated to include retractable stairs leading to a single sided walkway, leaving one side of the bin open for easy access to fill from a chaser bin or grouper.

Not only are Simplicity Australia’s new 30 Series Air Seeders the largest they have ever built, they are also packed with features to benefit growers now and into the future.

While Simplicity’s electronic section control builds upon their long proven and reliable metering system with new features and zero compromise.
