With design input from leading tractor manufacturers Trelleborg’s TM1000 tyres optimise high power tractor performance levels. Enhancements covering tread pattern, lug design and tyre material composition deliver superior traction, floatation and wear characteristics.
With conventional configuration (i.e. non articulated, non track) tractors now being produced with up to 368kW (500hp) of 76 to power capability, the requirement to get power to ground takes on extra importance.
Trelleborg’s TM1000 lug design incorporates a “wing” that effectively lengthens the lug beyond the tyre casing to provide an extra wide footprint. In addition to improving traction the extra wide footprint reduces soil compaction as tractor weight/tractive force is spread over a larger surface area. Joint testing with Dresden University has shown that a 12% wider footprint can create up to 2% higher crop yield.
Moving to central area of the TM1000 tyre, the lug widens at the center line providing more contact area with the ground surface thereby maximising wear resistance for longer tyre life.
For travel on the road the combination of carcass design and tread materials mean rolling resistance is reduced that in turn lowers fuel consumption and emissions while the lug pattern and sidewall design enhance operator comfort through reduced vibration. Trelleborg comfort test results show a clear operator preference for the TM1000 over premium competitors.
Trelleborg’s TM1000 range covers tyre sizes from 76 to 117cm (30 to 46 inches) in diameter and 600 to 900mm in width and is fitted as original equipment on select higher power tractors.
