Antonio Valentini, owner and managing director of Italian manufacturer Valentini SRL, has undertaken the 16,073 kilometres journey here several times since 2011 to ensure his company’s products are standing up to harsh Australian conditions.

About half an hour by road from Venice Italy, Valentini is a manufacturer of a wide range of rotary hoes and power harrows as well as a growing line of bed formers, other cultivation equipment and stone crushing machinery.

Valentini has had a presence in pockets of Australia since the early 1990s. In 2011 Vin Rowe Farm Machinery was appointed national distributor and since then the product’s reputation for strength, reliability and ability to thrive in in our local conditions has grown across the country.

During one visit Mr Valentini last was asked by a number of farmers if his rotary hoes could have rippers attached.  Such was the demand Mr Valentini got to work on a set of rippers for Australia as soon as he returned to Italy.

Part of his next return visit was to assess how they were working on farms and to gather further feedback on improvements. As well as the rippers, Valentini developed a bed former for their rotary hoes to cope with Australian conditions and during his visit Mr Valentini received feedback on these.

Valentini also holds another advantage in that all models with working widths from 4.16 to 7.59m (13.6 to 25ft) fold down to transport width. This makes them ideal for quick access between jobs.

Valentini has also developed a quick release flange on its rotary hoes, and this saves considerably time in cleaning and maintenance.

Valentini has three ranges of power harrows with working widths from 2.44 to 7.59m (8 to 25ft) from the New Prince suitable for 74kW (100hp) tractors all the way up to the Mammut for tractors up to 257kW (350hp). Working depth is 280 to 300mm (11 to 12-in).

Valentini also offers three ranges of rotary hoes with working widths from 2.79 to 7.78m (9 to 25.5ft) for tractors with power from 66 to 257kW (90 to 350hp). Working depth is 250 to 280mm (10 to 11-in).
