Wandin Silvan Field Days puts the Yarra Valley on display

Demonstrations and displays of a wide variety of new equipment will provide a backdrop to some of the most famous old machinery at the 2017 Wandin Silvan Field Days

It’s one of the friendliest events on earth. The annual Wandin Silvan Field Days, will be held from Friday 14th to Saturday 15th October 2017.

Located in the heart of the Yarra Valley region of southern Victoria, organisers look forward to welcoming exhibitors and visitors from across the country to become involved in this significant local community event where proceeds aid local fire brigades.

Now in its 48th year, the 2017 Wandin Silvan Field Days will host exhibitors ranging from farm machinery, light industrial equipment, motor vehicles, irrigation equipment and water tanks to information on the latest pest and weed control, fertilisers and chemicals.

Demonstrations will be on centre field with a wide variety of new power equipment, such as chain saws and ride-on mowers, as well as retractable water sprayer and pruning technique will be revealed.

Particular to the region, will be information on packaging, transporting and labeling of fruit. Motor Vehicles and 4WD’s will be well represented.

Members of the Yarra Valley Machinery Preservation Society will once again have a working display of their iron treasures – always a popular attraction for visitors at the field days each year. Many hours and care are devoted to the restoration of the machinery on display, and members are happy to share their stories and discuss the machines’ place in farming history.

The principal focus of the Wandin-Silvan Field Days is an ideal event for farmers and visitors see a diverse range of horticultural and agricultural products and services, pick up information and see live demonstrations of farming and general lifestyle products.

With some products not yet released on the market, local farmers, and primary producers generally, can take advantage of the unique opportunity to inspect the latest in farm technology and talk directly to experts from the nation’s leading suppliers.

The open hours of the 2017 Wandin Silvan field days are from 8.30am to 5.00pm on the Friday, and from 8.30am to 4.00pm on the Saturday. An entry fee of $15.00 applies, with no concessions. Students and children under 15 are free.
