The ironic twist that accompanies boosted bank accounts is the scrutiny farmers are applying to every purchase. No longer prepared to be the victims of inflated price big ticket products. Instead, their upcoming purchases need to represent value. Take a look at where the money is being spent.
Models that farmers are selecting for quality and value in 2025
Brands that represented value in 2025 didn’t suffer the 30% dip that over-inflated price models had to endure as farmers turned to value-for-money purchases.
Prepare for the upcoming season by ordering now for on-time delivery from stock that is in popular demand. But be quick, as once the current floor stock is sold, the deals end.
Farmers have the money reserve to buy new models and do just about anything they want around the farm with the forecast of the third-highest farmgate income on record from the 2025-26 season about to boost bank balances

The breathtaking run to plant down one of the biggest crop on record to achieve a record harvest rested on a knife-edge early in the growing season with many growers looking to the sky.
Growers coming off the second biggest winter harvest last year were primed and confident when they planted down an estimated 24.9 million hectares for the 2025-26 winter season, in what could have resulted in a record harvest.
But since the seed went into the ground, it has been dealt a bitter blow of very little to no average rainfall. However, in late news, some regions did finally get a drenching that put them back into the game.
Annual value of Agricultural product from 2015 to 2025

Analysts quickly covered their tracks just after season start by suggesting the heady talk of harvest records now be curbed, as previous production predictions for the gross value of agricultural production were marked down by 2.8% to $90.7 billion, but since then, late season rain has lifted their optimism once more with predictions of a $94.7 billion harvest in season 2025-26.
This revised prediction has been driven by improved crop and livestock production volumes following more adequate rainfall in several cropping and livestock regions.
And what stands out here with this late rush, the value of agricultural production with fisheries and forestry added in, stands at a record level worth $101.6 for season 2025-26.

Bourgault 4420 Deep Knife Drill in demand for next season orders

Following the second-highest farmgate income predicted for season 2024-25, many growers are now placing orders for Bourgault’s 4420 Deep Knife Drill.
And there is a valid reason the 4420 Deep Knife Drill will be at the top of the order books, as this model has been purpose-built and developed in partnership with local growers, one that is more robust and can stand up to all paddock conditions.
That request has been met with the 4420 Deep Knife Drill available in either 12m or 18m (39.3 and 59ft) widths, in 3 and 5-plex sections, with both models able to fold down to a 5.5m transport width. Giving utmost convenience when moving between paddocks.
With Hi-Flotation™ tyres incorporated into the design as standard, it minimises soil compaction when working across row spacings of 250mm or 300mm.
Now’s the time to prepare for the next seeding season, check for model availability of the Bourgault 4420 DKD™ or any other Bourgault equipment.

Farm Ute trays come down to toughness and weigh as Aluminium vs Steel in a local build

Norweld is the envy of the industry for its standard Deluxe Tray that can also be expanded with the Plus version that adds colour-coded sideboards and toolbox lids with stainless steel capping
Local manufacturer Norweld has designed a lighter-weight aluminium tray with a heavy-duty build that can stand up to all the toughness expected of farm loads.
Up until recently, steel trays have been the preferred build for a farm Ute tray as they can handle the rough and tough approach adopted by many farmers for all types of jobbing, including building fences and transporting equipment where clashing of materials is commonplace.
The toughness of steel makes it ideal for handling the demands of farm jobbing, but the major criteria to watch is Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), especially for current build Utes where manufacturers are introducing lighter components trying to keep the weight down.
To get the best return from an expensive new Ute many farmers are aware that staying within your GVM is important, and lighter-weight aluminium trays are the way to go.
They’re significantly lighter than steel, and that allows you to carry heavier loads without overloading your vehicle. And despite their lighter weight, current build aluminium trays match the durability of their steel counterparts.

Redekop blue light treatment retrofit for harvesters eliminates weed seeds

Redekop was the first choice for growers during the 2024-25 harvest season to fit a combine-mounted Seed Control Unit (SCU) that acts as a grinding mill to pulverise any weed seeds.
The Seed Control Unit (SCU) from Redekop works to eliminate any herbicide-resistant weeds thoroughly, and growers’ uptake has almost outpaced the brand’s availability over the past two seasons.
And while that dominance will continue for high-powered harvesters the company has thrown a lifeline to operators of small combines that don’t quite have the power to run a grinding mill.
Redekop has developed the Weed Seed Destroyer (WSD) retrofit system that can eliminate herbicide-resistant weeds at harvest with blue lights and infrared, and the design makes it ideal for lower-powered harvesters.
This Redekop alternative WSD system requires far less power than an SCU as it uses GNI’s Direct Energy technology to fire a high-intensity combination of blue light and mid-range infrared. Any seeds exposed to this light immediately lose the viability to propagate.

Nokian Tyres expands Soil King VF line for tractor mid-power range

Nokian Tyres has added three further sizes to its Soil King VF tyre range as operators seek higher performance for tractor models in the mid-power performance 147 to 202kW (200-275 hp) range.
Many demanding agricultural tasks can be carried out more sufficiently following the release of the VF650/65R42, VF540/65R30 and VF600/60R30 tractor tyres that will enable more farmers to experience the test-winning, soil- and fuel-saving advantages of Nokian Tyres Flexforce® VF technology.
The Soil King VF series with Flexforce® VF technology uniquely combines flexibility and strength. This tyre technology creates larger ground contact areas, and lower surface pressure to reduce soil compaction significantly.
Tests conducted by the Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft (DLG) have validated the best-in-class performance of Nokian Tyres VF tyres in both paddock work and transport. That sets them apart from other premium agricultural VF tyres.
The tyre has also undergone extensive paddock testing. In their reports, the test users highlighted soil friendliness, stability and road performance as the main attributes.
These are three distinct advantages to fitting tyres from the Nokian Soil King VF range. Operators will cover an estimated 6% more treated area each working hour, along with 8% lower fuel consumption when cultivating and 5% lower fuel consumption in transport work.
These tyres have the advantage of Flexforce® VF technology that provides dynamic flexibility and higher strength in a unique combination that makes the most out of the power and capacity at hand.
The company has applied these tyres to stringent testing and, as a result, is confident of smooth and balanced behaviour with low rolling resistance and a high load capacity.
Nokian Soil King VF tyres are available in five diameter sizes, including 711, 762, 864, 965 and 1066mm (28, 30, 34, 38, and 42-inches).
